I've loved what he's done in the last few games. To me it's felt like our attack changed greatly when he is up in the middle there as a focal point. It frees Sergio up and allows other people to play off of Edin. He may not score as much in that role but it looks to me like our attack really needs it. Not to mention someone who can actually head a ball being in the box is really nice.

Dzeko comes on in the 76th minute when we are 0-1 down. Within 10 minutes we are 2-1 up. It must mean something.

Dzeko comes on in the 76th minute when we are 0-1 down. Within 10 minutes we are 2-1 up. It must mean something.

It must mean that Essien got caught, and Tevez and Nasri made a particularly good play together.

Let's attribute the cause of the goals to what actually caused them.

Dzeko is definitely not the one who should be credited for last nights goals but it's not coincidence that we scored 5 goals less than one half while playing full attacking 3-strikers football in last 30 minutes of Sporting and Chelsea games.

Watching the game again, I'm not sure if it is the 3 strikers that changed everything (though it may have helped). I think it's more of a mentality change in the dying minutes.

Mentality adds to it definitely but it can't help if you attack with Barry, NDJ and Lescott though :)

Strikers are strikers, their job is to cause problems in front of opposite goals and they are obviously doing ti better then other and when there are more of them.

For me Edin should play. Balo isn't clinical enough to warrant a start. Edin at least gets involved even if the ball does bounce off him to much.

I'd also leave Silva out, who is possibly in the worst form of his career atm.

Give Nasri responsibility.

All I saw from Edin last night was the ball bounce off him 5 yards and mis place passes. In theory he is what we need, he just isn't the player to do the job well enough.
