Dzeko to Chelsea

Re: Dzeko to Chelsea

@City_Watch -Daily Star: Chelsea are willing to pull out of the race for Napoli hitman Edinson Cavani if City agree to sell Edin Dzeko to them.

Re: Dzeko to Chelsea

Dangerous policy for us, I would rather we sell Dzeko abroad than a direct rival.

But then we could end up with a replacement no better, or plain worse, and Cavani goes to Chelsea.

This way we offload a very good striker to get a great one and our rivals take a very good striker instead of a great one.

It's not like players suddenly become twice as good if sold to a rival, you just notice the impact more.

Still a bit silly for us as he will be very useful for a Mourinho side. There are no doubts that he will be sold this season though, hopefully either to Napoli or one of the better Bundersliga side.

Re: Dzeko to Chelsea

I'd be more than happy to see dzeko go Chelsea rather that than them buying an actually good player. Need to have more about you than just goals and in my opinion take away his goals and your left with a very average player.

Goater new how to find the back of the net but you was never gonna see him play cl football. Sell him and effectively weaken the buying team, It's win win.

To be honest if I was him I'd be desperate for Napoli. Surrounded by creative midfielders in a team he'd constantly run onto the ball with a very good manager (bias aside) who really wants him, for a team that makes saints of their players, he'd never get dropped and he'd have a real chance of picking up silverware. He could step right into Cavani's shoes and enjoy a really smooth easy exit from City.

Yep the difference between Dzeko and Cavani in the box may be similar....outside the box they are miles apart. The big risk this window was Jose going to Chelsea and bringing in Falcao or Cavani. In that scenario they would have been favorites. With Dzeko they will simply be nipping at our heals.

Re: Dzeko to Chelsea

Dzeko will thrive at Chelsea. It would be the biggest cock-up we could possibly make and would all but give the title to Chelsea. Dzeko is a goalscoring machine, if he was our top scorer in the league whilst starting over half the games from the bench, how do you think he will perform within team which has a faster build up play and some players who can actually put a decent cross in.
Dzeko>Chelsea = Golden boot next season.

Re: Dzeko to Chelsea

The way Mourinho sets up his team Dzeko will be his focal point like he had Drogba if its true that Mourinho is after Dzeko he would do that job easily especially with the love Mourinho gives his players

Re: Dzeko to Chelsea

People shitting themselves about dzeko Going Chelsea get a grip. Yes he will score goals, suppose any forward they buy will do but we all know dzeko plays crap 9 out of 10 games. He won't have an affect what so ever on who wins the league. He actually played decent in 2 games last year at Norwich and arsenal (against 10 men). The rest he was well below par. Not worried one bit about this.

Re: Dzeko to Chelsea

Swap dzeko for Mata and then sell Nasri and tevez and buy Cavani.

Re: Dzeko to Chelsea

Wouldn't like to sell to Chelsea,
Dzeko is a good goal scorer and no mug with the ball at his feet,
Mourinho would play to his strengths and he would get a bagfull for them. Mancini fucked him about and he still got goals for us,when he we played for him he was fantastic, would like to see the new boss give him a proper go,our new boss not Chelseas!

posted it on the other thread, but heard from good source that Pellegrini wants Dzeko to stay.

wouldn't mind him since we signed 1 winger and another is on the way.

Salfordpaul has also eluded to Dzeko staying in the Navas thread.

Who's the other winger by the way?

Dont forget that Mourinho wanted to sign Dzeko at Real Madrid before we signed him so although the prospect is still far fetched, it is not entirely surprising that Mourinho will be interested once again

Mourinho is a no nonsense manager that does not distract and delude himself with the so called nice football tiki taka disease that is corrupting the mentality of the society through the media. He is all about getting the job done by maximizing your talent with honesty, hardwork and optimum effort on the pitch.

Dzeko is not particularly good technically but he is still a top goal getter and I have always rated him as our best goal scorer and our real No 9. Unfortunately this season has not gone so well but then again that applies to our other strikers but Dzeko seem to have received most of the criticism probably due to the fact that he different from the others in terms of style. But his record this season is still not too bad considering he was a squad player for most of the season.

I also expect Mourinho to keep Lukaku as well.

Good post

The fact the we haven't operated a trad winger system may have left Dzeko with a system that didn't suit him

I have always felt that we hadn't seen the best of him... but then again there were times when he mised absolute itters just through poor body postioning....

I really can't make my mind up...

Holt would score goals at chelsea we gonna miss out on the league if Holt goes Chelsea?

Agreed - if we worry too much about our rivals we'll have nervous breakdowns. United will sign some big names. Chelsea will sign some big names. Even Arsenal and Spurs will. Hell, Liverpool look like they're signing Mkhitaryan from Shakhtar who is a phenomenal player. All we can do is strengthen as much as possible and swapping Cavani for Dzeko in whatever way is an upgrade.
