Dzeko to Chelsea

Re: Dzeko to Chelsea

City and Chelsea (along with scum most probably) will be neck and neck for the top of the table all of next season. How can we sell to THEM? Selling him to another English club would be bad enough, but to one of the top 3 or 4 clubs? Criminal. He will score so many goals against us I shudder at the thought.

Edin is a head case. We've seen him when his head is right and he's ungodly good. We've seen him when his head is wrong and he's shite.

Either keep and let Pelle have a shot at getting his head right, or sell to Italy/Germany. Lots of clubs would love to get him. So what if Chelsea will give us more. It's worth the financial hit just to not see him coming back to bite us.

Also, not to buy into the "special one" hype too much, but assuming Jose really does want him, shouldn't that tell us all we need to know about Edin's quality and potential?

with navas coming would it be a bad idea to keep Dzeko ?

Would it fuck! Who knows what Pellegrini might be able to get out of Edin?
You think he is Cavani standard?

-- Tue Jun 04, 2013 5:00 pm --

I am in the 'Keep Dzeko camp' as I still don't think we have ever seen the best out of him as our play obviously doesn't suit him. Let Pellie have a season with him and see what comes of it. My fear is that we get Cavanni in for Dzeko and the goals scored remain on a par.......... and we will be around 20M pounds (at least) worse off. Also never keen on selling a player to our rivals as it invariably comes back to bite us on the arse. A fired up Edin looking to prove a point will be hard to contain IMO..

Surely the one time you sell a player to your rival is to stop them signing a better playet that you can get yourselves?

City with Cavani is better than Chelsea with Dzeko. But Chelsea with Cavani would be a very real threat.

If that did actually happen, I don't think the difference next season would be anywhere near as big as some make out. Would expect Dzeko as the main man at Chelsea to score as many as Cavani for us, certainly within 3/4 goals. Dzeko with consistency and confidence is a bloody beast.
What? The Dzeko that plays for us? MP uses inverted wingers for a start.

Re: Dzeko to Chelsea

I'd hope that Edin would improve with Pellegrini's coaching. I think if we could keep him and bring in Cavani, then if we suffer any injuries up front the other can carry on the job of scoring goals, and winning matches for us. I would be gutted if we lost Cavani to injury, and then had to resort back to the wastefulness of last season.

You don't sell players to your rivals whether or not you think they are good or bad, If they want him they a have seen something they like and that could come back to bite you. Just look at Arsenal, sold off their best players and it nearly cost them a top 4 place and has put them further down the pecking order in the league.
The key words bring Arsenal sold their BEST players. We'd be selling Dzeko.

And Dzeko with his "flubber" feet is a complete disaster!

We need a one chance one goal striker soooo much!

They don't exist

The most clinical striker in the world is probably Higuain, in terms of shots to goals over last few years...1 in 3
Messi is 1 in 4

Maybe Jose just wants us to think he wants him at Chelsea so that we keep him and they get Cavani? He is a genius at mind games, so I've heard...

True,....and Madrid fans don't rate Higuain either, even Cavani had a barren spell this season. When this happens then it would good to have a backup plan.

Re: Dzeko to Chelsea

If we sell Dzeko to Chelsea, it would come back to Haunt us in a huge way.
He wouldnt even need to contribute to overall play so his first touch wouldn't matter as much.
He wil score for fun becausr Mata, Hazard and Oscar will do all the work and just feed him directly and he knows where the goal is.
Dzeko is an average footballer but he is a great striker, it will be worse than letting Van Persie got Nited
