Dzeko's debut

Awesome player and his goal scoring exploits in Rome are clear proof we sold him too soon (not to mention selling him for something around 14m and spending 30 m on Bony to replace him LOL)

To be fair to the club I do think he asked to leave so the club can’t be fully blamed for selling him but should take responsibility for getting such a pathetic fee.

Edin will be fondly remembered by most blues. His four goals against Spurs at WHL were unbeliable and provided me with one of the best away games I’ve ever been to.

Wish him all the best when he hangs up his boots.

I remember when he was laying down on the pitch indicating a shoulder issue. I don't remember who the ref was for that match, but he stood over him telling him to get up, etc. The ref wouldn't allow the medical staff to come on because he knew Dzeko was faking. While everybody knew it was gamesmanship, it was very bad form to not allow medical on the pitch when a guy is claiming injury. He finally relented and allowed medical to come on. The medical staff did their job and checked him out and made him go through the protocols before allowing him back on the pitch. I liked him before that match, I grew to love him due to that match. His place in City's history is written. When we would see that Roma was on TV, my wife and I would check to see if he was playing and if so, we would watch just because it brings back the memories.
Also teamed up again with Kolarov at Roma. The 2 of them always gave the impression of being quite pally with each other.

I'll always have a soft spot for Dzeko. He scored two of the most important - but oft overlooked - goals in the clubs recent history.

His goal against QPR will always (rightfully) be overshadowed by 93:20, but that's what gave us hope and got us back into it. And of course the equalizer against Notts Co saved the FA cup campaign, which we ultimately went on to win breaking the trophy drought and ushering in a new successful era.

Was also vital in the 2014 title run.

He was a frustrating and by no means a perfect player, but a very good one nonetheless.

This thread has got me thinking.
Which ‘other goal’ would be remembered as the most important Edin‘s or Kevin’s?
For me? Definitely Kevin’s. The ramifications of losing that game were the stuff of nightmare.
Loved Edin to bits, he always managed to score at the swamp and it seemed to mean as much to him as it did to us.

Think mancini summed it up best when he said Edin scored a lot of ‘heavy goals’ for us.

Can’t lie however he used to frustrate the hell out of me at times. There were games where his first touch and effort were well below par. Think he is someone who needs to feel loved and appreciated by his manager to really get the best out of him, with Aguero being our no1 striker that just didn’t happen with us.

Everton away... won 3-2. Edin gave the team a 5 min breather, we then held off Everton to close the game out.

The goal before THE GOAL but without his it wouldn't have mattered a toss.

Great player, wanted to be number 1 and had to leave, you can't blame him for that, he could be lazy but also I bet Spurs were glad to see the back of him.

Met him in Nando's once, really pleasant lad and an excellent striker for us, those 4 goals against Spurs, what a performance, he was immense that day.
The one Edin scored about ten seconds after a Spurs' corner remains one of my favourite City goals. His header for that one was unbelievable,.

I was never his greatest fan but thought he finally came good on Pellegrini's title winning season
Deservedly got a new contract and did nowt after that.
On his day he was good but a lot of bad days as well.
