Dzeko's debut

We could have gotten many more good years out of him but difficult to have regrets considering our recent success

10 years ago today. I remember it well. Ticket in pocket, few beers before the game, something about this player just excited me... I'm not saying I'd followed him since a youth player and had watched all his games... Just had a good feeling about this lad.

And what a player he turned out to be!

I remember chatting to some Bosnians outside the ground who were absolutely buzzing. Then sat next to two in the ground. This was 11yrs ago so we didn't have as many foreign fans about then which I remember thinking was a bit of a novelty at the time which for me just added to the anticipation.

I'd got myself a seat right at the top. Can't remember why, I didn't usually sit up with the god's, but it gave a decent MOTD style view of the action.

(From Wikipedia)
He made his debut for the club in a 4–3 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on 15 January in which he set up Yaya Touré for the third goal of the match. Džeko marked his FA Cup debut on 30 January 2011 with the equalising goal in Manchester City's fourth round match against Notts County which ended in a 1–1 draw.
I can't remember the goals but I remember his moves, his confidence, the way he touched the ball. I remember when he was on the left of our attack, with 2 after him, and he just did something, can't remember what, and dribble past them and went for a goal. Full of confidence. I knew than that we have a genuine ST. One of my favourites. Still miss him, we let him go to early and replaced him with Bony.

Big game player.

Always stepped up in crucial moments when we needed him.

His last season was disgrace but I’ll let him off.

His last season was his first with us that he had any sor of longish injury. a couple that season if memory serves me right.

I dont remember it being as bad as that, but there was certainly some apathy towards the end.

I never used to think 14m for him was a bad deal. Bought for 25m, i thought it was the best 70+ goals 11m could buy.

Till chelsea agred a fee of 32m for him with roma some 4 or 5 years later (and hence older) only for him to turn it down, that's when i thought it could have been more.

But full credit to the club, he let them know he wanted to move, and they enabled it quickly, he has commented he was grateful for how he was treated, which we see so often with our big players.

I must admit I didn’t think Dzeko would be that useful for Roma for so many years. That was when I realised we should not have sold him. Yet.
He was a very good player for us. Best memory his game at Spurs.
A nice guy and decent professional. He was in a way everything Balotelli wasn’t. And still the latter was the more favourable with the City fans.

Superb player and such a nice guy, I remember there was a video of him driving his car to training on the MCFC official site but for the life of me I cant find it.

Edin Dzeko... One of the greatest strikers ever in European football - More than proved himself in three different leagues. We were privileged to see him play for City. A truly great player and a genuinely nice bloke.

No Dzeko, no 93:20
First player to score 50+ goals in three of Europe's top leagues, despite claims in some quarters that fake was.

Fantastic player for us until his last season, turned into a shithouse coward, everton away was a fuckin disgrace off him, but hey ho more good days than bad off edin :)

The two goals against West Brom too which was just a crazy finish.

Always had time for Edin, frustrating yes but that 13/14 performance from him shouldn't be forgotten
