Eddie van Halen RIP

RIP Eddie

A fantastic gig to have seen. I also recall that when Sabbath returned for the second gig at the Apollo in that June, VH had been replaced by the utterly shite Tanz der Youth.

EVH was to our generation, what Hendrix was to the previous one. A total game changer.

R.I.P.

Shocked and desperately sad at this news. Never been so sad at the passing of a musical hero. Knew he'd had some issues but wasn't expecting this.

I've been a huge fan of Van Halen since I saw them support Black Sabbath back in 1978. Saw them another ten times over the years.

Eddie was arguably one of the two most influential rock guitarists - simply a true great.

RIP EVH
Can I just ask who the other guitarist is?

Not really a fan of that type of guitar playing but from the bits I’ve seen he Is brilliant at it. Also seemed like a really top bloke.

Nah, it just is the greatest debut album - literally fucking changed rock music forever thank's to Ed's genius.

Just this!!
On releasing 1984 Roth said..."it's 1984 and we're the soundtrack"
They were the soundtrack for rock since 1978....and still are.
As a kid Eddie had hundreds of people in his backyard/street just to hear him play....and he started as a drummer. RIP.
