Am I the only one who isn't bothered about this signing?

I'm no expert on him but he doesn't look much better than what we have
Plus all this pissing about not choosing a club makes me think he's the money grabber type who would move clubs the second a higher money offer came in.

I may be wrong though.
You are.

Why do United want him anyway? They have a squad composed entirely of wingers and they're screaming out for a CM or even a DM.

It seems just as strange as trying to sign Sneijder when they needed a CM. I swear if Ferguson had City or Chelsea resources he'd make some massive mistakes.

Been doing a little research into this fella dating back to December last year when initial rumours came out about a move for him. Back in December his agent (marc formeaux) stated that City would pay £30 mill then loan him back to Lille till the end of the season.

But the agent also confirmed directly in the interview that hazard wanted to actually move to Real Madrid.

Now I know that a player can change his mind but the goings on in this saga are are leaving a sour taste in the mouth. It seems now that his agent is looking to bank £5 million himself in any proposed transfer for Hazard.

I sense one of 2 things here, and i may be wrong but given what's been going on, this is the opinion I have come to;

1 - he is playing games (albeit not very good ones) along with his agent to prise more money from our club. But how can a 22 year old who has only played in France expect to become the highest earner and be guaranteed a starting place in a championship winning side.

2 - This could all be a ploy to bring in offers from the spanish teams ( like Sanchez)

At the end of day we need to make one offer, tell him straight to take it or leave it. get a decision by end of the week. If he has not decided we should look elsewhere.

As Bobbymanc said he wants the signings done asap so that he can plan pre-season in advance. We don't want another drawn out saga on some 22 year old who has yet not played at the highest level but wants to command a god's wage.

He had our resources for years and won them trophy after trophy. He did make plenty of expensive mistakes though.

I think he will play behind Rooney.

I'm pretty sure something very similar to the above scenario will be exactly whats happening, one thing is certain, the club will not be made mugs of.

I'm confident he will be a City player.

Here's another report -

Last night the BBC 5 Live Football Daily show had a section on Eden Hazard and where he may be going. It was more of the usual, talking about his progress at Lille and people like John Motson, Colin Murray and Robbie Savage pretending to know anything about France's Ligue 1.

Then Match of the Day regular Colin Murray claimed that he had a source around the BBC who had said Eden Hazard to Manchester United was a done deal for £32m. Murray said the man in question had inside knowledge and had been right about several things before.

This is a BBC radio show so not really the place for a wind-up, but this is the 'unique' Colin Murray so it can't be ruled out. To back himself up he said the 'source' had told him Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was the front runner for the Aston Villa job before he was linked by the mainstream media.

Take it as you will.

Why? Rooney has been a revelation for them where he is now. They're in absolute dire need of some midfielders and they want to spunk money away on a winger/AMC? Ludicrous. The 2 derby matches you dominated them in this season were precisely because they have no midfield.
