Isn't there an issue here with us being unable to pick a substitute keeper? Or can the match carry on regardless?
We can can't we? It'll have to be one of the kids though, Slicker or some suchIsn't there an issue here with us being unable to pick a substitute keeper? Or can the match carry on regardless?
Well there is the Trump/Bolsonaro link and the whole S american football governance has been a shambles for years.2 Things here.
FIFA make all there money from internationals and FIFA are the top body so they can enforce this rule via UEFA - via the FA if they want to push it.
Brazil are a political horror show right now. I suspect the same snide conspiracy/anti mask BS that is gripping America is involved somewhere here. Nothing to back that up but it's the kind of BS they would pull
I'm afraid not. From what I believe, national associations have first call on players. The fact that clubs pay their wages and look after their every need doesn't matter. If, for example, Martinez wants KDB for a game, he gets him. And if we claim he's injured and unavailable, the Belgian FA can insist that their medical team examine him. In this situation, however, I thought that FIFA (or UEFA; two cheeks of the same arse) had said that clubs were allowed to withhold players if they were going to be travelling to a red list country?Surely the clubs hold the cards here? They're our players. We spent tens of millions on them, we pay their wages, we look after their every need. If we don't want to put them at risk then surely that is our right?
Especially not wanting to send them to a country that has let Covid run riot and seemingly don't care about the lives of their own citizens. If FIFA uphold this it would be beyond a joke and I would say legal action should be looked into.
I don't get that Jim... Although it's quite rare, as I understand it, players have the right to decline to ever play for their national team if they don't want to. As far as I know, they're not actually contracted to the national association. I'm prepared to be educated to the contrary!I'm afraid not.
