Or just doing a “United,” and saying they’ve got a knock, feeling a bit tight in the hammy, or feeling unwell and got a Dr’s note!

It is the height of stupidity that a player, who makes his living playing top class football in a foreign country…which is why you pick him…is then penalized because of GOVERNMENT RESTRICTIONS that threaten his livelihood!

If you live and work in a RED COUNTRY, as deemed by either the host nation or the country of your birth/football “nationality,” then you should receive an exemption from having to travel. FIFA should have a rule that says if X% (say 20% or 5 players, or even 30% or 8 players) of your 25 man squad are from RED LIST countries, then you get to postpone your game to a later date.

Penalizing the player…and the club…and the fans…and disrespecting the domestic competition is absurd on its face…which means that’s exactly what will probably happen!

FIFPRO should then tell ALL PROFESSIONAL players to “retire” from international football until FIFA wakes the fuck up and realizes they’re punishing the wrong people and it is GOVERNMENTS who are making these rules!
