Ederson (defensive midfielder Atalanta)

I think its far from certain a player who turns 26 this year would turn down a chance to quadruple his wages in a bigger club and a better league to be in a title race they more likely than not wont win. Would be a massive financial gamble from someone who is closer to 30 than 20 and is far from earning the big money in top level football. Perhaps Ederson is willing to make that multi million gamble to try earn himself a trophy with Atalanta, a club he has not even played 3 seasons with, who knows. But given that he is currently on a salary that would not even make him a top5 earner in several Championship teams, I think there at least is a decent chance he would take the big money move to a big club if given the opportunity. He could break his leg next month and regret he didn't take the deal that would earn him 50m+ the next 5 years, compared to the 6m he has earned in his entire career so far.

Easy to say "I would turn that down to be in a title race with Atalanta", but considering the numbers involved I think its a stretch to assume any or most players would turn that down.
I'd have all the respect in the world for him if he stays, but there's two, maybe three, clubs in England that can pay him that sort of money and tell him he'll be in title races and mean it, one in Germany, and a couple in Spain. It's not exactly now or never, but like you say you'd have to be a very, very bold person to walk away if the offer is on the table.

And this is the line we hear every time we look at a player out of Italy. They put up a player months before the window opens, with the intention of causing an auction, so the price will be high, but the other side of this is the player is on less than half of what he can get at City, and Atlanta may well not get another offer as big as City`s again.
If Atlanta keep him it helps confirm CL next year, maybe helps progress deep this year and could mean a first title and all the money that would bring. More high profile performances could boost his value even more. They can still sell him in the summer. How much over his market value would city have to pay to make the numbers work for Atlanta? This isn’t happening.

I live in Italy for the past 3 years and watch a lot of Italian football. My wife is Juventus fan as are all her family so I chose Torino(just to be a **** and we do have some sort of bond with them)
Anyway Ederson is the real deal here..Whether he can do it in the prem is another thing but he is definitely worth a punt. The guy can run all day and is an aggresive ball winner. Just what we want to fire the rest of the team up.

Everytime I reserve a hotel for Torino game, something always happens before I get to go over. Hope to see them in person soon!

For all that reasoning, Osimhen is now playing in Turkey, the Italian league is skint, and Wages are being cut right across Europe. Atlanta can ask what they want, but the market may not be there come the summer, it probably will not be City looking at him if it goes to the summer.

They also love cash mate? It’s how they survive but I agree it will take a top fee, €70m at least imo
