Ederson (defensive midfielder Atalanta)

By the way, i have watched Ederson a few times. Or put differently, ive watched Atalanta a few times. But never in any of them had i ever thought, WOW! Who is that number 13?

Frankly, i had to go watch his highlights to see what all the fuss was about. The highlights look decent. Nothing extraordinary. Lots of hard sliding tackles and some nifty moves hee and there.

Its no surprise he didn't stand out to me. Im guessing he didn't make all those sliding tackles in just 1 game.

Im not suggesting he isn't a good player by the way, i just think a different type of player might be better for us

Out of curiosity who did stand out to you when Atalanta were playing Liverpool and Leverkusen off the park? Lookman did his thing but ya can't dominate a match like that from the front. Koopmeiners stood out, but he's gone and Atalanta hasn't skipped a beat. I'm not saying Ederson is a superstar. But I am saying he has intangible qualities that contribute greatly to winning football matches. Not the type of player it would upset me to see in the squad.

Yes, i'd say Ademola stood out of group,
But then again, I'm biased. I pay closer attention to Nigerian players anyway. So i was always going to watch Lookman. He was good and had some amazing games in the run in. I think he had a purple patch. Seen him for Nigeria and he is a lot more hit or miss.And more miss than hit. Good dribbler who makes lots of bad decisions.

Funny enough, Aina, another player linked to us, is my favorite player on the National team. But i don't think he is up to our standards.

Anyway, i thought as a team they, Atalanta, played an exciting brand of football, but i didn't find anyone to be a stand out.

Yes! I think I and i believe it was Delphino were adamant Rodri was the DM we should get and that hed be the perfect fit. At the time, most preferred another Brazilian... He ended up at United so i wont judge him on that. But we sure did get the right one.:)

Ad for Dihno, NO!. Didnt watch enough Russia/Ukrainian football to have an idea what we were getting.
