Dzeko is on the bench because the Italian thinks two midgets up top, trying to walk the ball at granny speed through a tighter stuffed defense than a fat guy in a bakery, will succeed.

If at first you don't succeed...

Einstein defined insanity "repeating the same thing - expecting a different result."

50 wingers and now midgets, do you 2 know each other ? that italian manager started Dzeko over Tevez Arsenal at home, Madrid at home Ajax home and away dortmund at home, how did we get on ?

Could you list all the games Aguero and Tevez have started and not scored?

Which proves what? That they are shit?

The logic of driftwood.

have i once said Dzeko is shit ? have i ? i think hes ok and want him in the squad, but you really having a laugh if you think hes as good as Van Persie, poll 50 wingers and ask who they would want to be providing for, do you think Dzeko up front for Arsenal last season ends up top scorer and wins player of the year, theres my logic mate

Dzeko broke records in Bundesliga and is breaking records in PL (goals per minute). Pretty sure it's not a fluke, no matter how you look at it. The guys is a top striker, and grossly underrated by a lot of folks.

But he does have a shite first touch, and we play with no width. Two factors that assuredly make him horse shit.
yup

2 ways to get the most out of Dzeko:

1. Keep him in the center. He should do everything he can to avoid moving out onto the wing which is a habit of his. He has not pace or dribbling ability. We need him in the middle to receive crosses.
2. Sign a proper winger (like Bale) to give him the type of service he need, crosses. Milner makes a good make shift winger for now, but we need a better winger in the summer.

So basically everything that involves him not touching the ball outside the box? Works for me.

Nothing wrong with the statistic. Did I say it was nonsense? I said statistics can be used to prove anything. Having a better minutes per goal ratio means nothing whatsoever.

If you have played a decent amount of minutes, it does actually mean something, despite you saying the opposite.

But Dzekos stats are clearly buoyed by coming off the bench and scoring late on, something that he seems adept to. So he comes on when the other team may be tired because of our possession stats and scores a goal in the 15 minutes he has come on for.

Do a comparison on goals per minute when starting on RVP and Dzeko.

Players who come off the bench tend to have a better goals per minute ratio than you might think such as little pea and Le Fondre.

Half of Dzeko's Premier League goals were scored when he started and surprise, surprise - all 6 came in his last 7 starts when he finally got some playing time instead coming on in Mancini's maestral managerial job - 91st minute with 1:1 at Stoke City.

He didn't got Bundesliga POTY and best season scorer awards being super sub, it's a mark he got having Mancini as manager.

Basically yes haha.
He's not Aguero, he's barely even a footballer.
But he can score goals because he's very smart, and very good at finding space in the box.

Or evidently inside the box if it involves anything other than poking it in the general direction of goal. Or something. It's hard to keep track. Some here change their criteria when it suits them.
