I think I will invest in a Bosnia top for the WC, as long as Edin is still with us. I reckon England have a 50/50 chance of getting out of the group so I might be best spreading my support.

You just need to have the fired up Edin, like he was angry when my brother called him super sub in Manchester last year.
Why didn't you mention that earlier? ;-)

He should get angry more often then...there has o be a way to get him angry in Brasil, or furious, we'd win the cup :)

It's not how he performs in Brasil it's the defense we're all worried about although Begovic is a solid keeper we don't have one proven top 5 league player in the back four...the midfield is the gem of our team, they make the Edin and Vedad goals possible, Pjanic is an amazing talent and the rest of the guys there fill in nicely...

You guys should start getting him furious at Newcastle, get another 3 points safe :)
just need to chant e-din dzeko, super-sub by the sounds of it.

Can we keep the comments in English please, this is a polite request, as none of the mods can speak whatever languauge that is, and you could be saying something completely out of order (and no we're not being force to use google translate to work it out).

Thanks.

Nothing out of order. I had to do it so he would understand. Won't happen again.

I think the performances since the Bayern game showcase that Edin's quality improves the more he plays. Mancini was right when he said Dzeko is a type of player who needs consistent football.

Similar can be said for some other players on the squad. Kolarov has been getting more time this season and has shown much higher level of quality than we were used to. Conversely Clichy has had some stinkers but then again he hasn't been playing as much.

I think one of the biggest disagreements on this board have been around the confusion between Dzeko not being in form vs. Dzeko's lack of ability. I think we mostly agree on all the other negatives regarding Dzeko. He doesn't have the industry of other strikers. But he's a natural goal scorer. Even though he constantly makes those runs (which don't always get noticed), his defensive contributions on set pieces often don't get noticed either.

I do think Aguero and Negredo is our superior pairing. Aguero is one of the top players in the world, and Negredo has been amazing so far. I just don't agree with the criticism Dzeko gets from some posters. He simply isn't a player who can be consistent when he's not getting consistent football. When he plays regularly his first touch and passing ability get better.

And I think he deserves little more understanding than he usually gets.

I don't agree with this. He got consistent football at the start of the past 3 seasons. He started hot in the title-winning season, then decidedly fell off. Same this year. He's a decent striker, but he lacks the consistency to be considered top notch. Also a bit on the selfish side. He can create (set up Negredo twice yesterday), but when someone else scores, he invariably seems to want to get on the board himself and starts taking wild shots.

But..but..he was dropped after Tottenham

Was great to see him smiling and happy....was world class finish and has stood up in absence of Aguero...hope he stays with us with same spirit for future seasons also and gets lots of support at home matches

Dzeko didn't get consistent starts at all at the beginning of last season if I remember correctly. In fact Balloteli was still here and I remember him having more minutes than Dzeko after first 7-8 games.
