Edin Dzeko (continued)

Mancini did not get the best out of Dzeko last year - he's a different player now - long may it last

The man's an Enigma.

Most of the time, I find his general play quite poor. Heavy touches, lazy passing, loses the ball. Then pops up with a worldy of a finish.

Tonight - Excellent link up play and use of the ball, played the No 9 role very well. Hideous finishing, and still scored.

I don't get him.

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko is ready to take a pay-cut in order to join Borussia Dortmund, according to reports in Germany.

I call BS on this...he seems to be enjoying his role at the moment, and the team can't afford to lose him at this stage of the season. Where are these "reports" coming from?

Christ his finishing was bad tonight, should of had 5 or 6.

That's the thing, whenever he's played really well he's been shit (or not threatened) in front of goal. Some of his best performances this year have come when he hasn't scored, Bayern away and Newcastle home spring to mind. Then he'll be absolutely useless on the ball but clinical as fuck, he's a bit of an enigma.

His finishing was abysmal tonight.

However I won't be too hard on him. He scored a beauty, got himself into good positions and worked hard. He is now looking like an integral member of the squad.

His touch was probably the best I've ever seen it tonight. Played very well, except for his finishing deserting him. It seems he only has shooting boots and first touch boots. Nothing else!

His finishing was quite poor but the rest of his game was good tonight made good runs and got In the right places

I'd love to see a gif compilation of Dzeko's chances tonight.

It would look pretty terrible, for sure. However, you could also produce a gif compilation of the rest of his play that would look brilliant (goal, winning a penalty, assist, many nice passes).

We've just steamrollered another 'top' team and even Edin's biggest fans will agree that he had many awful attempts on goal tonight, so there's really no need to only focus on the negatives.

Liking the defensive part of his game.

Making it harder for oppositions to get the ball out of our front half along the ground which is as important as creating chances for us to score when he can't.

Loving this new harder working side of Dzeko. The conditions weren't great tonight it was a slick surface. Not worried in the slightest the goals will come again. He's world class when everything's going well for him. .

Him and Kolarov are most improved In my opinion. It took Dzeko a bit longer to get into this rich vain of form...but he is bagging them in like in his Wolfsburg days!

I'd rather have Ed, who clearly knows how to get in position for a chance every time, with 1 goal and 5 ugly misses than someone who gets 1 chance and turns it into a beautiful miss

Wonderful. I'd rather have Messi but that's just me.

Bless you, you still see it as a battle between good and evil. City fans are the dark side and you are Luke Skywalker fighting a noble battle. Who exactly is "they"?
