There has been an improvement with dzeko over the last dozen games , more committed and playing for the team , but he definitely had an off day today , he had a shoving match with a watford player after ten minutes and got booked and this rattled him , as most of the team improved in the 2nd half , edin certainly did not , got to be kun and the beast up front against spuds and chelski.
It's not been a dozen games. He had that stinking attitude, lack of effort and poor performance level up to and including Blackburn away. We've only played six games since then and he hasn't played all of them.

However, the contrast between that Edin and this one is unbelievable! He looks fresh, happy, determined and for the most part is playing well.

Nobody bar Navas played well in the first half yesterday but Edin was still a little below par second half too but at least he had the determination in his play that was missing for eighteen months previous to West Ham at home in the FL Cup semi.

I think you can tell if Edin is going to have a good game when he gets his first touch of the game, yesterday the first ball to him he didn't control well and his he dropped almost immediately you know then he's going to have a bad day at the office.

Couldn't hit a barn door from 2 foot. Yet another bad day in the office. In other news water is wet, leaves grow on trees and fish and chips are much better with vinegar.

In other news........Water can be dry, paper and gold leaves don't grow on trees and Fish and Chips can be great with Tartar Sauce. Lol!
In other, other news...... Dzeko does appear to have hit said Barn Door at least 16 times this season.

I suggest we enjoy the season and throw insults when it's all done. There may be a few surprises in store for us yet!

From Edna to Odin, and back to Edna again, in the blink of an eye...
I've never seen a player who swings from top ten footballing God to pub team captains missus and back so often

"After over 3,000 votes it's time to announce the winner of the #City100 competition...

You picked Edin Dzeko's strike against West Ham in the Capital One Cup semi final first leg as the best of all the Blues' first 100 goals netted during the 2013/14 season."

fanboys strike again great finish but our best goal?? Not even top 10 for me Aguero v the rags (1st) Yaya's away at Plzen etc.... all Yaya's free kicks Ferna's 2nd V Arsenal Milner V Bayern Aguero V Arsenal Negredo V Bayern at home as examples

Shows how many bosnian fans we have that! Yaya against Plzen or Sergio against scum were much better.

Sergio's celebration against scum best this season, or Negredo's knee slide

shows me how many people didn't bother voting :)

Dzeko has been playing well recently (Watford aside) but I still feel he should be moved on in the Summer.

His form fluctuates far too much, from world class to Sunday league, all within a period of one game. When he his hitting his heights he is brilliant but more often than not he is just not up to it and its incredibly frustrating to see. Scoring great goals one game then missing sitters and unable to control anything the next.

We need a player who can be relied on and who plays consistently well when call upon. Dzeko has never been consistent in his whole time at the club and I can't imagine he ever will be. I wish he could play consistently as I think he fits well with our squad and seems like a nice guy.

I personally believe Dzeko wouldn't need to be replaced with another striker depending on how Jovetic & Guidetti do for the remainder of the season, a left footed winger in the mold of Navas would give us more flexibility.

No it doesn't.

And .. Bosnians are welcome to support Man City if they want to.

Anyway, Yaya's goal against Plzen was best goal for me .

-- Tue Jan 28, 2014 4:43 pm --

Dzeko should be knighted in my opinion. A statue should be erected for him. He has done an exceptional job for this club .. But I agree, he should be moved on in the summer.

I like him to stay. It isn't easy being a third choice and still score the amount of goals he has when called upon. He brings different options to the team and with jovetic coming back I have a feeling they will work well with each other.

Different options? I don't think so.

I think he's a good striker inside the box, but adds nothing to our game overall.

I also think he and Javi Garcia earn too much money for the quality they show on a regular basis.

you really dont have a clue do you.. now come on- be honest!!

More than deserves another contract.

Thing is if Jovetic comes good he may feel its best to move on but will be certain starter for his country for a fair while yet even if he doesn't get as much game time as he would like next season.

Depends on him I would suggest as the club would want him to stay beyond this season I would suggest.

'Kin'el why do people always get sand in their vaginas and jump to conclusions nowadays!

I made an opinionated comment which in no way suggests I don't want bosnians supporting City so put your PC brigade badge away.

Dzeko's goal against West Ham was pretty fantastic in fairness.

which one ? they were both great. Still a big fan of Dzeko even though he has a poor game now and again.

Jovetic is a totally different player to Dzeko .... I don't see him being a replacement for Dzeko .....

Hasn't Edin got the ninth best minutes per goal ratio in the entire history of the premier league? He is doing his job and doesn't deserve the continual abuse on this forum
