Re: Edin Dzeko legend

Yes. First touch to control is different. That's where he gets into trouble. No one can seriously argue that his striking is off. He's leading the club in scoring. Unfortunately, there are many times in the game that he's needed to control the ball instead of striking at goal. He's inconsistent at that.
Entertain yourself with counting poor first touches throughout the entire team. Then come back with your stats. Balotelli's first touch is pretty damn miserly. His passing, let's not even go there.
As shown, Aguero had a shit game against Spurs, his touch was horrible on several occasions.
A few games ago Dzeko got caught offside a few times too many. The usual suspects were moaning about it for a week.
Against Spurs, Tevez and Aguero got caught offside more times than I care to count. Nothing. No comments. The usual suspects were suspiciously absent.
If the critique is fair and balanced someone might actually give a flying fuck. When someone is obsessing about a player, it becomes tedious at best.
But, let's say his first touch is shit. I'll take Dzeko's shit touch and constant scoring, over Tevez' and Aguero's world class first touches and lack of goals, any day of the week.
Goals tend to win games. First touches tend to do jack shit.

Probably because he wasn't joking. "Just kidding" is the standard excuse in the US when you are caught with your pants down.
Surely you are "just kidding"?
Lived in the US for 8 years. The just kidding brigades made my blood boil.
Try getting a serious answer from a just kidding muppet.

-- Wed Nov 14, 2012 12:02 am --

Seems the half time talks are doing wonders for our goal scoring.
