Edin Dzeko (contract update page 370)

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

OMG, what game were you watching?

Dzeko played fine. Held up play well, had 1 or 2 wrong passes (but in less important situations), had few shots on goal from tough positions, was open when Aguero got greedy (again) and didn't pass the ball to him.

If anything, you might argue that Kun sucked - Dzeko played fine.

Of course you could argue that. But will Mancini bench Aguero based on bad performances? Would you? As much as I like Dzeko, Aguero should play over him all days of the week.

I am not sure what days of what week you are referring to, but certainly not THAT day when we played Dortmund, because that day Dzeko played better than Aguero.

If anything, Aguero should have been swapped for Tevez. I think Tevez would have provided a breath of fresh air (and hopefully less greed with the ball).

If Aguero passed to Dzeko that time when Dzeko was in a better spot instead of going it alone and wasting a chance - we would have a victory.

Or maybe Kun thought, fuck it he's probably standing in an offside position again I'll have a pop myself.

Agreed - Dzeko's performance on Wednesday was no worse than anyone else's.
Dzeko was offside 3 times? Woopty-do, Aguero missed 3 clear cut chances and was way too selfish on few occassions - which is far worse.

But it's not even about that - they were both pretty much CUT OUT the entire game, which is something that needs fixing instantly - dont care if you have Messi in there, without the ball he's not gonna do much is he...

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

The massive void between defence and attack didn't help Edin on Wednesday.

Yaya was very poor (might have had a knock) and Aguero, Silva and Nasri (until he was taken enough) weren't coming deep enough to receive passes.

The change to the wing backs didn't have any effect really.

Have to compliment Dortmund on their excellent defensive shape though.

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

I think Edin is going to be playing for his national squad this weekend.
Anyone know who are they playing and when?

It would be interesting to see how he will fare in whatever setup his national manager sets up.

Away to Greece and at home to Lithuania, There Bosnia next two games. The Greece game is the top 2 in that group should be a good game.

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

Doubt it would be a good game as Greece games are all shit. It's very important one though, if we would nick three points from that one, I doubt anyone could stop us til Brazil.

We're missing Pjanic though and Greece are solid, strong unit so it's going to be very hard. I would be happy with a draw.

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

Dzeko should never start a big game over tevez and aqureo, but i think hes a good good striker and im happy we got someone that good to step in, i mean how good do you want your back up players to be, hes good enough for that, no problem with him
