Dzeko needs to start games.

He more than earned it. Why are Tevez and Aguero ahead of him? He scores more and that is the number one thing that strikers should do.
I agree, he has such a level headed attitude and is a great role model to younger players. Nasri and Balo need to be dropped to give other players a chance to shine

I wouldn't put Nasri in the same category with Balo.
I think that Nasri is a good player and will pan out for the club. I think he is out of form, but he is not as dumb as Balo.

Balo is simply a child. I don't think he is all there, if you know what I mean. I really don't. I mean what grown man would burn his house down with fireworks?

We need to get rid of Balo, and fast.

Wasn't it Mario's brother? And wasn't it a small fire in his bathroom? I don't recall his house being "burnt down". A career at The Sun awaits you!

But aside from being pedantic... i hope we give Guidetti a chance to show whether he'll ever be good enough to be part of our quartet of strikers. If he is... get rid of Mario and keep Guidetti. It also helps that John is club trained.

I doubt very much you are a City supporter. I have had a read of a few of your posts and am 99% convinced you are a rag.

-- Mon Oct 22, 2012 11:41 am --

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

didactic,

I've never seen a Man United game in my life, not even on the TV, unless they played City.

Can you say that for yourself?

No, but it is my way of saying that those living in glass houses should not be throwing stones.

Buzz off.

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

I really hope that he won't be used as a makeweight if we go for Falcoe...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

Itis all well and good saying that Dzeko should start games, however when he doses start games we do not play to his strengths for some reason we have him playing with his back to the goal, instead of getting players wide and crosing the ball over for him to run on to. If we did this I am sure we would be getting at least 2/3 goals a game either from him or from his set ups.

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

Dzeko works well as a sub because of how we, and almost any other team, begins to play towards the end of a game where they aren't fully in control. Dzeko can make something out of nothing, long balls and desperate crosses are his staple food, not something City do much of.

If Mancini is serious about adapting and evolving our playstyle into something teams will be less familiar with he should be looking to Dzeko as a at least a part of the answer.

Dzeko has real potential to lead the line, he just needs to be less of an afterthought for Mancini.

We should play

Dzeko Aguero
Tevez
Yaya Milner/Nasri
Barry

Reckon that could work somehow if worked on

LIKE,

This against RM

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

What I don't understand is why doesn't Mancini apply different tactics for the players he has on the pitch?

Is it really that hard to include more long balls, wing play and counters if Dzeko starts?

It would throw the opposition off guard and in the long term would pay off.

How many games this year have City outclassed the opposition in terms of possession/shots/corners yet the scoreboard reads nil?

If Edin is playing as the target man up front, why not change the tactics to suit his advantages? Then when you have Tevez/Aguero up front Mancini can just switch back to his old style. The only issue is the communication between the midfield and the target man but I don't see that taking too long to adapt to considering he's been at City for 2 years now.

Either way if he stays on the bench going into January I don't see him staying at City and that in itself is quite a shame. Imagine the horror of seeing him in the CL final in the future and him bagging a winning goal against City? The level of irony in all of that would be enormous.

I think the main reason is that Mancini and the coaches at City have a different agenda to you. Their agenda is to win as many matches and trophies as possible for City. Your agenda is for Dzeko to play as many games as possible, irrespective of how City get on. Hope that helps.

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

If its not broken dont fix it is my motto.

Aguero and tevez until 60 min and then dzeko.

With 11 and with aguero starting instead of balotelli we wouldnt have needed those late goals on sat.

That being said its whether dzekos happy getting 30 mins each game (at the mo hes not even getting that).

Maybe drop tev deeper and play all three???

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

The style of play has to be altered to be more direct when Dzeko is playing. It is no coincidence he is scoring goals as a result of balls being crossed in more and more, finally we are starting to use his aerial ability as well, something which he hasn't shown much since he joined. The slow build up and one twos at the edge of the box doesn't suit him at all. Basically Kolarov at LB is ideal for him as well, his attacking play is superb and his crosses are something Dzeko thrives on. Hopefully he starts the next few games and see how he does although his record when starting I don't think is all that good albeit he has not started many games.

How can you say that it's not broken, if substitutes wins matches ?

What would you say if Fulham and WBA games finished like they ware going to, without the introduction of Jacko ?

Re: Edin Dzeko legend
