Not good.

It appears that Inter Milan is preparing up to 30 million Euros for Dzeko either this January or next summer. Given the fact that he is not playing consistently, we may be losing him.

There's not a team in the city of milan with a pot to piss in, never mind one team with 30 mil.

That's City's asking price and there's no way Inter will agree (as you so colourfully described it lol) so he'll just have to stay. If anything comes off it, it will be agreement to move in summer if Inter qualifies for CL, which will make them enough money I should think.

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

In 1936 the goalscorers were -

Doherty 30
Brook 20
Herd 15
Tilson 15

1968

Young 19
Lee 16
Bell 14
Summerbee 14

Last year we had Aguero 23, Dzeko 14, Balotelli 13

Coming from the guy that called someone's country a "farce".

Oh the irony, so thick, so thick...

The irony was intentional, you stiff.

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

Kismet you make an interesting point about the three times that we have won the league. In 1936 and 1968 we had four guys who all got into double figures but in 2012 we just had the three, with the next scorer being on six, although there were a few of them on six.

Peter Doherty to score 30 in that season was incredible and a pity that the team was broken up with the onset of the second world war.

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

Spamalot you are correct in Peter Doherty was a great player. 30 goals in winning the league was immense.

Often described as the greatest player ever to come from Ireland.

A true legend.

Anyone know where these quotes are from?

Edin Dzeko admits he could leave Manchester City this month – even though it is Mario Balotelli who is under-performing, writes the Sunday People.

Roberto Mancini has been considering new forward options as he plots his battle plan to catch Manchester United and retain the Premier League crown.

And if he does snap up a new front man, Dzeko or Balotelli will pay the price.

Mancini was caught up in a training ground scuffle with Balotelli last week but is continuing to show support for the striker who has made more headlines for his off-field antics than his goalscoring ability.

Even Dzeko reckons the volatile Italian is not living up to his potential at the Etihad. But that doesn’t stop the Bosnian recognising that the axe could fall on HIM, not Balotelli. Dzeko said: “Anything is possible. I wouldn’t rule out leaving now or in summer, but I’m trying not to think about it.

“It is up to me to try to use the opportunities I am being given at City – everything else is beyond my powers at the moment.

“We have four strikers and I suppose we can bring in another one, but only after one of us leaves the club.

“Everyone knows what Balotelli is like. He enjoys being the centre of attention, that’s just who he is.

“When it comes to the team, he can sometimes be a bit over-the-top in some areas, but generally I find him a really a positive guy.

“However, I don’t think that he is making the most of his talent.”

Dzeko joined City from Wolfsburg for £27million two years ago and would probably fancy a return to the Bundesliga if he is told he has no future at the Etihad.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina international added: “Honestly, I’m not thinking about specific clubs now, but I would like to return to Germany.

“It’s too early to speak about that at the moment. I am a City player right now and I don’t see a reason to talk about anything else... but yes, I love Bundesliga and would love to go back there some time.”

Dzeko 26, has earned a reputation as a super-sub this term by scoring six times after coming on from the bench.

But he hates that tag and explained: “People can say whatever they want, but I’m not a super-sub and I never will be.

“Sometimes the team doesn’t play very well, or I don’t play well because I lack continuity. It can happen and that’s all part of football.

“Yes, I have scored quite a few goals coming off the bench – but when I enter as a sub I don’t feel the pressure to score.”

Bullshit story, I think he will be sold in the Summer but we are not going to cash in this Transfer window.

I read that in a bosnian newspaper a week ago so they probably got it from there..
