Must admit he had a far better game today than for a long time.
Great goal and worked hard for the team, but (and there is always a but) that penalty sums him up.
As for confidence, do we really want a striker that needs to be tucked up in bed every night , given a big kiss and told how wonderful his is, just to make him give a fuck?

I hope i am wrong and that he has a great season (and i lose $50), but can not see it.

It's not a matter of being tucked in every night. It's a matter of watching Dzeko make countless runs last season without getting service. The issue was always that he was never part of the game plan.

When it no longer mattered, he stopped making those runs, and he looked demoralized.

I though Edin did well today, especially with the goal, but to make him MotT was ridiculous, IMHO, considering how poor his penalty was.

I would have given MotT to James Milner. He played well today and was by far our best performer on Wednesday.

If the Dzeko that put himself about today decides he wants to reproduce such a performance,on a consistent basis,then i'm more than happy for him to stick around.

edin dzeko can be the key this season we will come up with a lot of bigger teams this season and with him in the team we can change the style of play
and maybe go long and holding the ball up for the others to come late

today game was good and we did look a level or 2 better than sunderland who the press was talking up with there new signings and maybe a top 10 finnish for them this season
