i don't mind if he scores or not, but he must play for the team, run, play with passion and that's all. look at negredo, how he tries to help team, how he takes part in pressing and what a big desire he has to win. dzeko has been 4 years here and i haven't seen that so far. we need stability and if you think that we will tittle if dzeko is n1 forward in line-up and scores 15 goals you know nothing about football :D
remember at least tevez from 09/10 season ;)

I think it was right before Negredo missed his header, but I may be mistaken. Anyway, right before that he was down near our penalty area harrying one of their midfielders causing him to lose possession. Then he motors back up and makes a good run.

Thing is I know Dzeko has that in his locker, too. I just don't know why we don't see it very often.

In simple words, some fans just dont like him.

look how rvp plays, compare him with dzeko and everything is clear. city is too god for him :)

that's what i am talking about. s t a b i l i t y.
you must do your best in every game and dzeko thinks that if he plays one game well, than he deserves to be in starting line-up even if he fails to do that again in 3-4 matches after that. but we want to win tittle, we need goals in every fucking game, we try to attack and deffense isn't as good as it used to be during mancini's times so scoring only one goal and thinking that you deserve to be n1 is nonsense for me.

Or at least about strikers and their roles in the team. Dzeko as a goalscorer is absolutely top class but it seems that peoples perception and judgement are obscured for whatever reason. You are comparing Dzeko with other players that are more or less playing in every single game with all the confidence and support that could be afforded to them.

I understand that the masses are corrupted by the idea or image of what a striker nowadays should be especially in our team with Aguero and Tevez in the past. Dzeko may not be a flair player but he is better at getting into positions and scoring goals than any other player in the squad.

Dzeko works hard in trying to get into positions in the box, drifting into the wings and also dropping deep to take down balls from the goal keeper. That is essentially what his job is and he does that well enough. He does have bad games like anybody else but his spell at city thus far have been very uncomfortable with him bereft of a string of games e.g during the start of the title winning season, that will build his confidence and momentum.

He does have flaws but my point is enough of the irrational and senseless witch-hunt. Its been going on for far too long, hence the 500 page thread. Evidence in the fact that folks are making comments like ''hes back to rubbish again'' and that is obviously because he did not score.

Don't deny it, some fans have decided not to like him and that may never change regardless of his performances or the number of goals he scores. It's emotions we are dealing with in this particular issue and we know how irrationally that can manifest.

I'm sorry but that is nonsense. On his day he will score some great goals yes but he is incapable of stuff like Aguero vs Liverpool, United or Swansea.

He has a lot of talent but his consistency is laughable, that's what makes him so frustrating. For every good game there are two average/poor ones. This became all too evident last season when he was given plenty of chances. It would be mitigated if he could hold the ball up regularly and bring others into play but 1) he is too soft and 2) his touch lets him down far too often.

I would say Negredo is already making his case as the best goal scorer in the squad, he is what a proper goal poacher looks like. Check out his record in La Liga
