he had a poor final year but the manager had lost confidence in him which was odd given the impact at the end of 13/14 season.

he played best up front on his own in away games.

That sounds pretty fishy to me. How could City argue they shouldn't have to pay 100% of his wages if he is playing for us? We aren't a League One club (or Barca).
