Now I don't care what his holy book says, but the point is that the vast majority of Muslim people in this country are not looking to impose their laws upon others. It isn't inherent within the religion to do so, it is inherent within a minority. The kind of which we see in plenty of other minority groups.
And, this is the point really, they can live under self-imposed Sharia law, and that is their choice. But there is no way on earth it will ever gain legal status in the UK and to suggest that it will sounds like scaremongering to me. To punish or constrain a particular creed, an entire religion, based on the views of a minority of a minority is a rather rash and provocative thing to do, it would only make the situation worse. I think Australia's immigration policy is rather terrible if I'm perfectly honest, my Australian friend is forever going on about how racist everybody is over there. I'm worried that this is the direction our country is heading in.

The only way to combat their extremist element is to extend the hand of friendship to the sensible ones and work with the practitioners of the religion to weed out these individuals. I hate to break it to you but they aren't going to go away if we start throwing out Muslims and denigrating them as the EDL would have us do. In fact, believe it or not, that's exactly how these things spiral out of control.

I am not anti-muslim, I believe in freedom of choice/speech and had no problems when I've travelled throughout Muslim countries... however I am questioning my own views with some of these "extremists"
