El Shaarawy

If we genuinely wanted him then we would have pursued him a month ago. There is no value in deadline day signings unless a club approaches you with something you want, and seem to want to do a deal. Which is why I will enjoy watching the rags squirm over Ozil, Baines and Fellaini all today. They'll probably get Ozil, but he'll cost a pretty penny regardless of Bale, because Arsenal are also in for him and are under huge pressure to sign someone, anyone.

At best it is a cheeky bid to see if we can get a cheap deal done.

In reality it is deadline day and if a player as much as farts it will be taken as a sign that he wants to leave his club immediately.

I agree....no panic buying this time for City! They've done their shopping and picked up extra cover for the back 4 which was needed! I do think we could have still improved our team alittle more during this transfer window but i think we're done and city might see how the team does over the next few months and if needed might pick someone up in Jan...imho!

thanks

El Shaarawy staying at Milan
By Football Italia staff

Stephan El Shaarawy has rejected reports that he could be leaving Milan for Manchester City today.

The youngster’s future has been placed into doubt after the Diavolo signed Alessandro Matri from Juventus and Real Madrid’s Kaka over the last four days.

“I’ve decided to stay at Milan,” he told Sport Mediaset as he arrived in Florence to join up with the Italian national squad.

“I have made a precise decision and, no matter what offer arrives, I want to stay at Milan.

“There's more competition in the squad now, but there will be playing time for everybody. I'll fight for my place in the team.”

El Shaarawy was dropped from the Milan starting XI that beat Cagliari at San Siro on Sunday, but he insists there is no problem with boss Massimiliano Allegri.

“I don’t question the decisions of the Coach,” he responded.

When asked about Kaka’s return to Milan, the 20-year-old smiled: “He is my idol!”

El Shaarawy is now in his third season at San Siro. He has scored 18 goals in 61 League games for the Diavolo.
