I don´t know if someone has posted this before but you have to ask if Elano is so bloody good why were the other top Premier League teams not in for him. Not to mention the Villareals, Atletico Madrids etc
Don´t get me wrong I loved watching him as a player and think he could have been an excellent squad player.
However look at it from his perspective. World Cup year. Needs to be playing. And Galatasary will be paying him much better I imagine.
So therefore I think it makes sense for him. He would not have been happy on the bench at City and do you really think he would have made as much impact as Ireland and Barry in the hustle and bustle of a Premier League game?

Not too disappointed to see him go, on his day his was brilliant but that happened once every 6 games. He was far too inconsistent to be a valuable player, we could never rely on him to come off the bench and change the game every single time, you just never knew if he could be arsed or not. We need players in the squad who we can rely on every single time to do a job for us, and Elano wasn't up to it.
Another good point, is we now need another midfielder and it means it keeps the transfer window a bit more interesting for us rather than just concentrating on Lescott :D

Elano was one of the reasons I liked City so much. He is a great player and on his best of days could easily make it into any team in the world. I hope he finds consistency and scores lots of goals for his new team! I'll miss watching him thats for sure!

this has probably been said but, i take it we'll be back in the market for another creative midfielder as back up for Ireland?
Fuck OFF to anyone that says "Fuck off to Hughes"- go spit your dummies elsewhere, as Elano was trouble and we don't need that at the club,he was not the be all and end all - there are much better players at the club now.
I for one am happy and say good riddence.
I hope MH stays as long as possible as he builds honest hard working teams, and this is his first time he has had money to show what he can do - give him a season, or 2 and see how it goes.

Most of the top players will want a starting place so to replace Elano we need someone who does not mind competition for a place and to start by backing up Ireland ..... someone young and eager ........ Ozil fits the bill perfectly.
