Yea, for about 4 games....then he demanded a new contract. That tells you evrything you ened to know baout the man.

His disruptive influence isn't the main thing though. The main thing was that his vast majority of performances for City over two years and under 2 different managers were shit

Also, I love the "Ela KNUCKLED DOWN" quote. The guy was getting paid 40k a week...maybe he should have knuckled down on day one of training rather than for the last 8 weeks of the season...

Oh, and the "disruptive influence" malarkey, once again, is FACT. Now unless you are suggesting that the player I mentioned earlier was bullshitting me, then take it on face value. Elano may on his day have been a gifted footballer, but he was incredibly destructive in and around the squad last season...hence he got shipped out.

Maybe you spoke to Bellamy who loves Hughes arse end up!!

You seem to forget that both the manager and the player had a problem. And wasn't this "last 8 weeks of the season" ultimately the part that bought Hughes time?? Aside from that, was it the manager that got himself out of a rut by playing Ela or Ela deciding to want a part of the future by playing better?

Come on, Mr Shears, answer that one.

This 'disruptive influence' malarkey had laid its head to rest a long time ago. It's just people that needed to carry on this slight on Elano that continue to dreg it up!! Remember, Ela KNUCKLED DOWN and gave VASTLY improved performances to get the club where we ended up!

Didn't Hughes big himself up after the complete sh*te he built his rep on? Ela wanting a new contract(was it an extension he was after?) is now turned into a 'demand'!!

You read too many tabloids!!

I said " some fans don't see what I see" how does that translate into I have a better football brain than you.
I bet most fans can see the same game and walk away with a completely different view of it. ( difference of opinion)
I'm happy with the players we've brought in Barry, Tevez, RSC and the rest and we are going places without Elano.!!!!
Still a great goal he scored for Galatasary which is what the OP made the thread on.

You didnt say that though. You said "no matter how hard you try you just won't convince some fans of the great talent he has". Again, that sounds patronising.

In my opinion, to be considered great, you have to be consistent, and put in the performances week in, week out, regardless of opposition, weather, home or away. Elano didn't, so I don't consider him great. You can have all the talent in the world, but what good is it, if you show it once now and again.

So which of the current team is your 'great', then?? I'm assuming Bellamy if you're going by that criteria...

Which member of the current team is my great? Stephen Ireland, because he was consistent last season, unlike Elano. You can mock Bellamy all you like, but he was excellent on the opening day at Ewood Park. Where was Elano in the last 2 visits to Blackburn? I don't think I saw him.... I think the physical games were too much for him. Bellamy would give more to City on a consistent basis than Elano.

Does it really make a difference? Fact of the matter is he only really started putting a bit more effort in cos he wanted a new contract. He was going on about it on the eve of the derby and the day after IIRC (although that might have been one of the other times he whinged to the press like a little woman). This again tells you evrything you need to know about the guy

But like I said, it's pretty much irrelevant. What is relevant is that the two years he was here his performances on the whole were shit and there were far too many games when he offered absolutely nothing to the team and was a total liability

Funny enough, he must have offered SOMETHING to a team that was winning more than 1-0's at home...

So you're saying if Elano had played we would have won 5-0 or something? 2 years ago we played Derby, promoted team, first game at home, and only won 1-0, with Elano playing. I'm sure I saw the team creating good chances against Wolves, unless you're suggesting Elano would have scored them himself. At the end of the day, a win is a win, I would much rather have 1-0 home victories, if it meant being better on the road, than big home victories, and being absolutly hopeless away.

Shit comment with no relevance. If you wanna know who the player was and want any details about the conversation had, send me a PM...

The last 8 weeks of the season did not make or break Hughes' season. We won nothing and didn't qualify for Europe.

As for the second question, it was Blumer knuckling down and putting a shift in rather than flouncing around the pitch and disappearing at the first sign of resistance. Like I said, too little too late, which was born out in the fact he was sold...

Like I said at the very beginning of this exchange, I understand you rate Elano higher than other people do - but stop trying to make him out to be some sort of hero who was treated badly by Hughes. He was a ****, all ends up, and people within the club (players as well as staff) are glad to see the back of him...

LOL...for footballing genius you don't have talk some fucking gash sometimes...

Go on...start your first "Hughes is Clueless" thread. I'm sure you won't come across like a spoiled arrogant kid with a grudge against Hughes...
