First and foremost I'm a Man City fan. Nobody is bigger than the club, whether that be Hughes or Elano, and nobody has the devine right to be in the side.
I was of the opinion that Elano should have been playing when he was on the bench, but after his misjudged press he went so far down in my estimation that I honestly wouldn't be sad to see him leave the club. His childishness in going to the press after being left out for just two games was detrimental to the club and our preparations for the following match. If I was Hughes I'm not sure he'd have even played a part in the Arsenal game. Borders have to be set for players and when lines are crossed, irrespective of who crosses them, then they should be punished and brought back in line. I know I've said this before, but how do you think Ferguson, Clough or Shankly would have reacted to one of their squad members doing that? With a damn site more vigour than Hughes seemingly did is my guess.
