Elano

Explain the Wigan game then.

Shit team performance. No-one played well, and if that happens you tend to lose.

How about Stoke?
You just said we beat Portsmouth because we had our best team out and then the same best team lose and you say no one played well.

Think before you type.

My god there's some stupid comments in this thread.

Fact: Elano is a quality player. OK, so his form dipped back end of last season (whose didn't!). Are players not allowed to have good and bad spells?

But he is obviously a class act, someone who can find that special pass and make things happen. And he's pretty tasty at free kicks, corners and penalties (admittedly his latest penchant for trying to score at the near post from a corner is f***ing annoying though. But I am sure he will get over that)

There is *no way* we should be selling him. The only question is whether he's an automatic starter, or should more often come on as a sub.

First and foremost I'm a Man City fan. Nobody is bigger than the club, whether that be Hughes or Elano, and nobody has the devine right to be in the side.

I was of the opinion that Elano should have been playing when he was on the bench, but after his misjudged press he went so far down in my estimation that I honestly wouldn't be sad to see him leave the club. His childishness in going to the press after being left out for just two games was detrimental to the club and our preparations for the following match. If I was Hughes I'm not sure he'd have even played a part in the Arsenal game. Borders have to be set for players and when lines are crossed, irrespective of who crosses them, then they should be punished and brought back in line. I know I've said this before, but how do you think Ferguson, Clough or Shankly would have reacted to one of their squad members doing that? With a damn site more vigour than Hughes seemingly did is my guess.

What about the Ronaldo saga in the summer?

One says he wants to leave the club and go and play for one of their rivals and continues to play and shine.
The other says he wants to play for the club and make us successful and gets put on the bench and watches Vassell take his place as punishment.

Back end of last season? The back end started well before Christmas.

He's maybe played five above average games since then................oh I forget, he's Brazilian.

Practice what you preach you fucking idiot. It's fairly simple; no matter who you are or who you play against your best team will have good days and bad. The difference is if you have your strongest 11 on the pitch as often as you can then you will win more games more often. Your best starting 11 never has a devine right to win a game nor is it gonna perform to its absolute best week in week out but it does stand a much more chance of winning more games.

Maybe be wasn't scoring screamers like he was at the start of the season but he was still involved in alot of our goals. 38% i think it was, also his dip in form coincided with the teams.

Again, less of the abuse.

10 goals and 10 assists for a midfielder playing in England for the first time? Not a bad season hey?

If we're talking about selling players due to bad form from Christmas to the end of last season then the entire squad should have been put up for sale in the summer.

Well when he leaves you can continue your obsession with the ex staff like, Distin, Sven and Corluka.
