Elano

I will be glad when he's sold in January. A bad egg, a bad influence in the dressing room, and a player with a totally over-inflated sense of his own abilities.

We don't need him. We will sell better players than him in the years to come, because we will be buying and developing the absolute cream of the crop.

Ireland, Robinho, and SWP are in a totally different league to him.

And anyone who thinks a top top club (Inter, Liverpool, etc.) will buy him are dreaming. He'll be heading to some no mark mid-table club in Spain or Italy...
OMG!!!
(just noticed this)
Lol

As a final dagger to heart of my argument with Mr Shears, in today's MEN, Hughes refers to Elano constantly as "Ela". Hatchets being obviously buried, it's an indication that, to me, leans towards MY supposition that clear-the-air talks went both ways. Of course, Hughes HAD to fine Elano as he's had to set the rules that he sees that Elano broke. I've no problem with that.

It's also a high indication, as I've alluded to a month or so ago, that Hughes has indeed shifted his hard lined manager mentality, that worked so well for him, at Blackburn.

Either way, I feel happy enough at what I see as progress in man management and not dictatorship that so many think is needed at the club.

Well, Elano got his start yesterday. Overall, I thought he was shite. But no more shite than the rest of the team.

What I don't understand, is that if he's so desperate to play, when he gets a game, why does he not contribute anything of note. Surely he should've taken that game by the scruff of the neck yesterday and showed Hughes et al why he is undroppable.

Someone posted yesterday that he won more tackles than DeJong and completed more passes. So fucking what? He was completely ineffectual, and other than a couple of fancy flicks, and a couple of hollywood balls, had no end product to his game. In a game where we were desperate for one of attacking midfield players to deliver something.

Oh, and once again, Ireland created the better chances...

bloody hell your'e not allowed to say that, i got told i knew nothing about football earlier on here, because i questioned elano's attitude and contribution.

the fact is, he is a dream opponent, he doesnt tackle, he doesnt sprint, he jogs a bit, he slows the play down, and is passing is ineffective in the main.

he does a few flicks, a decent 50 yard pass, that hurts no bugger, and he has no sense of urgency.

but apparantly top players dont have to work hard.

Good points. Very well made.

I think the Elano supporters will be a little more tempered in their love-ins from now on though...

He's had numerous games this season in which he's had the opportunity to make the difference, and he simply never has...

If you stopped posting things that obviously aren't true people might not say you know nothing about football.

strange but my thoughts echo those of the national press, and the 2 major broadcasters from yesterdays game.

did you go?

did you go v forest?

do you go away ever?

in fact tell me the last game elano ran, especially away, where his influence won the game, because thats what playmakers do?

he has talent, but we are seeing it in very sporadic bursts.

its not tht he doesnt tackle , its the fact that they are so half hearted and lame he may as well not fuckin bother!!! he makes petrov look like terry butcher!!

So the press said he's never put a tackle in ever? You go ahead and slag him off, plenty of City fans trying to make him the new boo boy, let's ruin another player. But at least get your facts right, you won't even admit you're wrong just ask more questions.

And yes I was there against Forest where Elano was one of the only ones trying to make things happen compared to shit like Sturridge, Hamann and Gelson.
