Re: Eliaquim Mangala

Might be Mangala ( strong in air & muscular) is lot of physical based player while benetia is technically sound (not muscular & good tackler). Guys who has micah's speed? oh Micah we are going to miss your powerful run.

Re: Eliaquim Mangala

But the big news who can easily adapt the High-ine defence tactics of pellegrini and his traditional formation 4-4-2. May be benetia can easily adopt this tactics for his mobility and anticipation.

Well that can't be true, seeing how he's just texted me to say he can't take the risk of joining a club who might not bake him a birthday cake befitting of his status. We can't really blame him for that.

Re: Eliaquim Mangala

If true we need to get on the phone to Benatia/Roma and get this deal done......NOW!!!

Man City deal for Mangala STALLS as French star looks to Chelsea and Man Utd interest

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/388293/Man-City-deal-for-Mangala-STALLS-as-French-star-looks-to-Chelsea-and-Man-Utd-interest?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+daily-star-football+%28Daily+Star+%3A%3A+Football+Feed%29" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/footba ... ll+Feed%29</a>

MANCHESTER CITY have seen talks with defender Eliaquim Mangala stall, having already worked out a £32m deal for the Porto star.

City are desperate to strengthen their defence ahead of the 2014/15 campaign but have so far been frustrated in their attempts to sign Mangala and Roma's Mehdi
Benatia.

The Citizens have deals worked out in principle for both players but have been forced to wait on an answer from Mangala as they do not have the finances to buy both due to the FFP ruling.

Starsport understands talks have stalled because Mangala hasn't decided on his future, with both Chelsea and Manchester United also interested.

City had hoped the France international would have made up his mind following his country's exit in the World Cup in Brazil, but the Premier League champs have yet to hear from him.

It follows the news that United had stepped up their interest in the centre back in recent weeks.

United badly need defensive recruits after the departures of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic and new boss Louis Van Gaal has shown he isn't afraid to splash the cash in order to beef up his squad, with around £60m already spent on Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera.

Jose Mourinho meanwhile is known to be an admirer of the defender, who is known to favour a move to West London over Manchester.

It stinks purely because it's a rehash and doubly so because it's in the Daily Star.

Clearly Txiki thinks that Mangala is the better choice. Otherwise we would have just closed the deal for Benatia. He's clearly the backup plan if we don't get Mangala. I haven't seen enough of either to have an informed position but so far he's been spot on with his transfers.
