Heard earlier they were doing another last tour and it must have dripped in sublimally because I got in from the battlecruiser and asked Alexa to play them while I had a bath. That Hyde Park gig they did in 2014 when Jeff Lynne put a new band together for it for that radio 2 thing was brilliant.
 
The band of my early teen years, Jeff Lynne surely the most underrated modern musician, still dip into their early stuff occasionally. Time finally caught up with them it seems, ironically it was the album Time which ended my interest in their music
 
Brilliant group, they have consistently remained amongst my favourites ever since I first 'got wind' of them singing 'Showdown' on TOTP back in 1973.

Blimey, that was 51 years ago, and yet it feels like it was only yesterday.
