In the case of twitter this worked as many tech people are working on visas tied to their job.

They can't leave and Musk knows this, he can act like a total shit and these people have very few options.

It's not going to be the same with federal employees but that's not the point. The right wing method of government is to break things, claim they can't be fixed and then look to use that as a rationale to shut them down. Shut everything down and reduce taxs.

What could go wrong.

Nah, they don't shut them down and reduce taxes, they use taxes to pay private companies to do it instead. Coincidentally private companies owned by their rich friends. The Tories had the highest taxes in history and yet cut every public service.

Elon Musk has said the impact of Donald Trump's car tariffs on his company, Tesla, is "significant."

"Important to note that Tesla is NOT unscathed here. The tariff impact on Tesla is still significant," he posted on X.

But Trump said the tariffs could be net neutral for Tesla.

He said his key adviser Musk had not advised on the matter "because he may have a conflict"

This is spot on. The Delorean was a meme car before memes were a thing. They still have a curiosity factor but any objective review of them tells you they are basically a faily standard sporty gt car. They have a number of interesting design choices but also some fundamental flaws and performance wise you could get far better for less money, and ultimately that's what people did. Exactly like the cybertruck.

Trump appears to be torching the US auto sector to help out Tesla. However Tesla is a toxic brand so the fact that most other cars will go up in price by 25% might not help them out that much. Many people will probably just put off getting a new car as Trump has a long history of climbing down from his stupid decisions.

This simplistic approach would carry so much more weight if there was any guarantee that freezing the lines now, and everyone walking away would be the end of it. It absolutely would not. We’ve been at war with Russia for most of this century and that war will continue long after any ‘peace deal’ is negotiated.

So that is the ‘what’.
 
Who’s next in line in Russia if Putin suddenly died, are they as hardline as him, we obviously know Vance is if Trump goes but would anyone taking over in Russia continue this?
