A senior White House official previously told NBC News, Sky's US partner network, that Donald Trump had discussed the Tesla and X boss transitioning back to the private sector at a cabinet meeting last month.

To be honest, I thought WTF? Why would Buffet offer a buyout to Tesla, for an economic sector which he doesn't fully understand. This is 100% anti-Buffet - Buffet is a cautious investor, and only acts if his ducks are all in a row. In retrospect, I should have spotted to April Fool's joke.

Maybe Elon is turning to Ellen and Trump misunderstood him saying he's transitioning?

That certainly lifted a wee bit of depression. Hopefully same amount every day going forward.

Tesla earnings are out later. The market estimate is a 6% reduction year on year.

I think 8% might be more like it. You never know if they have something up the sleeve to help correct bad quarters. But they've missed projections a lot over the last year so I'm guessing it's going to be bad.

Hopefully it will be , just wish the PM would put 25% tarriffs on his crap cars.
