Elon Musk

The place or the football club ?

The club - that would be piss funny I feel. Overnight Tweets about how he wants Slott to change their QB and he will put a baseball diamond on the pitch - however plus sides would be Slott and all the Muslim players would leave/go on strike and WOULD be renamed the place Klanfield

I suspect he is so far up himself he doesn't realise Tommeh is an assumed name and he thinks he is a descendent of his Granny so they may well be related - that could be such a laugh

Thats a nice reframe. But that wasn't the original claim. Either way, like I said, it's a free country. You are free to believe whatever you want.
Yep, I believe you were more than happy to vote for a bullshitting criminal sex offending blowhard, but you still haven’t told us whether you did it because didn’t know it, didn’t believe it or voted for him in spite of it. I suspect you’ll try another deflection to avoid answering the question because you don’t want to publicly admit that you’re ok with it all.

Until people learn that "unhappy populations" aren't brainwashed people who aren't as smart as you, the rise will continue.
The rose could have been predicted by BNP results in the early 2000s but nobody listened. Idiots dismissed it as just dumb people, people who obviously couldn't stand up to THEIR intellectual understanding of the world, voting. And yet they won seats in Europe. Then UKIP. Then Brexit. Now Reform.
The more you presume these people are idiotic sheep who shouldn't be listened to because they're brainwashed, the closer you'll get walked into a nationalist government.

People who believe that others who vote differently from them must be evil or stupid are cretins. And ironically, often stupid themselves. It's why I love democracy so much, it will punish your cowardice and arrogance.
Reads like Patty Hearst wrote it, which I doubt was the intent.

I see his dad is whoring himself out in tv now, but like Megan Markles dad did, seems the apple didn’t fall far from the tree.

His dad's just been on breakfast telly. He's as fucking bonkers as his son. Comparing Tommy Robinson with Mandela. I think he was trying to say he's a political prisoner, but then goes on to say Mandela was a murdering scum bag. Hmm, he's not really thought it out has he?

My experience is that everyone I know who voted for Reform are actually really naive (stupid might be a better word).
They see fake news videos on Facebook and take them as gospel. They lack critical thinking skills.

Just yesterday, some kids set fire to an abandoned school near me. In our local facebook group there were tons of people (usually boomers who don't understand the internet), posting things like 'It'll be immigrants' or, 'they're trying to get rid of this building so they can build more hotels to house immigrants'.

They've fully been conned into thinking all our issues are linked to immigration... they're not. It's because the people telling them 'it's the immigrant's fault' are mugging everyone off and giving hundreds of millions of £s to their mates (pub landlords) rather than adequately funding our country.

Dont underestimate the influence of the Daily Mail and GB news on that too.

In my area there is currently a lot of 'issues' with buildings being turned into HMO flats. Every thread on facebook about it is full of 'immigrnats', 'groomers' and other such bollocks.
In the pub i was talking about this to two of the biggest culprits. When i pointed out to them that they live in HMO or council properties it came as a real surprise to them..

Yeah if only everyone was as smart and switched on as you then they'd vote the right way

A pro-Reform spokesman at the weekend was describing the Reform gathering held a day or two before.

He said that there while the attendees were all angry about something, they didn't all agree on what they were angry about.

Anger is pretty easy to exploit/inflame.
Anger at one target can be defused.
It is very difficult (and expensive) to defuse anger at multiple targets, especially with social media fanning an outbreak against something new.

The irony being that they actually believe they are the best informed because they "do their own research rather than believe what the news media feed them". Which of course consists solely of watching videos from fellow mentalists on other outlets, while being ignorant of the fact that journalists have codes of conduct, regulations, sources, are professionals in their craft and base their information on actual news and research.

Unless they work for the Mail, Express or GB News.

The problem is not the fact that they're seeing misinformation, it's the fact that they're seeing what they want to hear which just so happens to be misinformation.

These people were not left-wing liberals converted to the far-right by X, they were probably in that bracket long before Twitter even came to exist.

We need to tackle the problem of people's existing prejudices and the problems that led them there. Simply eliminating where they get their news doesn't really change that. It makes them less dangerous maybe but it doesn't tackle the problem root and stem.

I don't think this is necessarily just exposing pre existing prejudices ( it is in some/a lot of cases, people feeling emboldened to state said opinions more ) But There is a thing called cognitive ease. it basically means the more you hear 'something' the more 'something' feels true even if its wrong. So the more you see news ( Even just big headlines )/articles/facebook posts etc telling you there is a problem your brain will automatically start to believe its true.
