Any emergency signing may not actually start ahead of Gunnar, but its best to have a back up rather than some kid who hasn't even featured in the stiffs

That would be fair enough...

Re: Emergency keeper loan [Merged]

Remember Arne Arneson? He was virtually unknown until that amazing double save in the legendary 4-3 FA Cup game at Spuds.

Give the lad a chance.

Failing that lets get Lloris on loan

or Fulop

That's the point!!!

Who's to say whether his contract is not going ot be renewed, whether he was bought on potential, or what.

The facts are he is a hugely inexperienced keeper who could easily cost us our place in the Champions League with one or two little errors.

Whereas bringing in a keeper who the defence have no idea about, can't judge when he's coming and when he isn't, may not get on with or even understand is preferable to a young keeper who everybody knows and likes.

Re: Emergency keeper loan [Merged]

Fulop isn't a bad GK, he's kept Gordon out of the side at various times in the last two seasons, but would Bruce really do us a favour? He's obviously carrying swine flu or worse, no way would Bruce help us out.

Thats the point, right now we havnt got a keeper for the bench, we obviously need 1, but Gunnar as our keeper for me, if he cocks up get behind him we just have to score more goals than the opposition in 3 games......easy

Re: Emergency keeper loan [Merged]

Fulop is an experienced goalkeeper who has preformed well this season when called upon. He is an international keeper, who knows the league. Nielson is very inexperienced, playing a couple of games for Wrexham. He was 5th choice at Blackburn last season. He's certainly no Arason, who was came from a top Norwegian side in rosenborg and was also an experienced international.

Re: Emergency keeper loan [Merged]

Another good shout would be Neil Alexander from Rangers or Zaluska from Celtic. The SPL is won now, and both these keepers are backup, but could both easily be first choice.

If he's a significantly better keeper then get him in, without a doubt.

It isn't that complicated to shout "Keepers Ball" when you're coming out.

Big Niall would, though, and he's Bruce's boss.

That's the thing, we don't know if whatever signing we can pick out of the air WILL be a better keeper than Gunnar. What happens if we bring in Fulop and he fucks it all up for us?

Somebody made a great point about Boyata coming in, which said that the rest of the team raised their game to help the lad. There's no reason why this can't happen with Gunnar, who seems to be well liked.

Keepers Ball may not be hard to shout, but as you well know, playing in net isn't as simple as that.
