we need a backup now as well. recall option isn't in the contract, they could terminate it, but i don't see why they'd want to, unless of course as you mentioned we offered them incentives...
but with shay looking likely to be out for a long time, joe is gonna be our #1 next season (i really hope so).

I think people underestimate what goes on at the club. Gunnar obviously trains every day with the rest of the squad, and they will all know him. The only question mark will be his temperament, and possible nerves affecting his performance. With regard to actual ability, I hardly think he'd be at the club if they didn't think he was good enough.
However, I hope upon hope, that Gunnar Nielsen =/= Kevin Stuhr Ellegaard ...

How many times? The FA Cup is a big red herring. James can return on the Monday after the season. He wins, Portsmouth get the cash and we get a very accomplished goalkeeper for 3 games.
There is no good reason not to get James to my mind unless Joe Hart is training with the team tomorrow.
