Emirates FA Cup Changes Ahead of 2024/25:

The greatest damage to the FA Cup has usually come from the FA itself.
But why are the PL pushing this? Only seven or eight clubs can qualify for Europe each season and four or five of those can be guessed in advance usually so why did the full PL go along with scrapping replays?
 
This serves nobody except the premier league clubs and like previous posts have mentioned it could be terminal for some lower league teams. We all said no to the super league and we should to this! Shameful

Completely disagree. At that period of time playing United and going to old Trafford was the pinnacle. They made more money from playing United home and away with the game also being televised. The money earned allowed them to get promoted numerous times even reaching the championship. Those memories would mean everything to those fans and the money made from the cup run helped make it happen.

Just had a google and just 3 years ago burton posted this on their website. So it’s still a very special memory all these years later.

Yeah, they’re celebrating drawing a game of football. Imagine how much bigger and better those celebrations would be if they’d actually gone on and beaten them on penalties?

I’m sure they appreciate the money earned from the replay and how it maybe contributed to future success. But nobody will be writing an article fondly remembering getting twatted at Old Trafford, even though the club made a load of dough from it.

It does if we’d won those games in extra time or pens.

If they’d scrapped final replays a few years earlier, we might well have won it ‘81.
 
Just been talking about this in work and someone has asked when was the past time we were actually involved in a replay? I genuinely can't remember. Doesn't really mean anything in the debate as a whole but it's bugging me!
