I can guarantee that there are many fans of burton who fondly remember watching their team play at old Trafford.one of my friends is a Crawley town fan and he still goes on about the day they played Man Utd. Scoreline is irrelevant it’s the stuff of dreams for fans and players of lower league clubs. As you mention the money earned also helped create many more memories which if it wasn’t for the huge attendance at old Trafford wouldn’t have been possible.Yeah, they’re celebrating drawing a game of football. Imagine how much bigger and better those celebrations would be if they’d actually gone on and beaten them on penalties?
I’m sure they appreciate the money earned from the replay and how it maybe contributed to future success. But nobody will be writing an article fondly remembering getting twatted at Old Trafford, even though the club made a load of dough from it.
Not to mention if the game went to extra time it would make it more likely United would win as they have the better squad so can make subs etc as well as the better fitness levels.
