Empty Executive Boxes

The club is happy to sell exec boxes this way, most “normal” businesses use the suites as they have a better atmosphere/ambience and are easier to cater for, hence why players and major corporates etc have the boxes.

Part of the shit side of the modern game.

These boxes have been around at grounds for decades but they have been more abundant at clubs where they get plane loads of foreigners and train loads of Cockneys up for every game as their support is rife with them and has been for decades as well as guests of companies who are all United and Liverpool fans from anywhere who go along for the day at their club.

For some bizarre reason the heirarchy at City have thought that we’d just get all these plane and train loads of nobodies coming to watch us as well, when our support has never been like that and may take decades before it is.

For some bizarre reason the club have concentrated on making a Family Stand far too big for purpose and in the wrong place, on away fans and giving them pride of place for the TV cameras, and then concentrated on the corporate boxes.

As an afterthought they’ve given us tiny efforts of blocks here and there and called it a “Singing Section” instead of sorting out a proper vocal STAND with cheap tickets for us and making something special for the group of fans who’ve been the hardcore the most over the years who’ve been the mainstay of the club.

The club have only ever filled the Family Stand on games where we lifted the Premier League trophy (not one single other game has it been full!) and are struggling to sell the corporate boxes and Tunnel Club - fishing them out to United and Liverpool fans in games against them.

Low an beyond our SeasonCard prices have gone up, again, for the ninth time in the last ten years, with a 47% rise in the last six years.

They’ve gone about the whole thing the wrong way around and obviously misunderstood what our support is about. They’ve gone around the Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester United circles with their heads up their arses just like all those clubs do and come to City expecting us to just have the same kind of support as those clubs because they don’t understand what football is really about. And they’ve got it all wrong! They’ve got it as wrong in the stands as they have right on the pitch. Which is a real shame because we’ve lost THOUSANDS of people who should in those stands watching this great team.

I reckon we had exactly the right amount of boxes our support and stadium needed before all this Tunnel club and other shite came about. We didn’t need anymore in our support. They should have got the stadium right first: give us a proper vocal stand, move the away fans away from the cameras, get the Fanily Stand up and running but so where smaller and away from the cameras. Then maybe from about 2025, once we’d properly established ourselves with the world of daytripping nobodies and through winning over decades and having a good reputation as a club and set of fans, companies would bring their guests who may well be City fans.

Modern football is rubbish but City could have gone against the tide and done something different to all those G14 clubs but didn’t and missed a huge opportunity and messed up our match going support which used to easily be the best in the country from about 1998-2003 to now being a nationwide laughing stock.

Empty seats in Tunnel Club yesterday as well as the corporate area in the middle of the South Stand.
It's going to happen every time we play a "smaller" club, and when we finally expand there will be unsold tickets. Isn't an average 95% the business model?

It's funny really, Madrid and Barca have an average attendance of about 70% and they're doing things the right way in my opinion, better to have empty seats at the majority of games than too small a capacity for the big ones, empty seats don't eat.
