Empty Seats - Away this time

Where are you posting from comrade? The 1930s?

I'd be astonished if there was a correlation between personal wealth and points accrued.

The clear correlation is between away games attended and points accrued, which requires effort over a prolonged period of time.

If people can't afford to go to matches they won't be able to accrue points. That's rather basic. People with more personal wealth can afford more, somehow.

We have now had 'earned' ''hard yards' and 'effort' used for those going to away matches. Perhaps we should call them 'Heroes of the Revolution' or something. Those poor souls who give up their time for the hardship and effort of supporting the Blues just to 'earn' points to have some more 'hardship' and 'effort' of going to see them again.

A system of the same old people getting tickets time after time when others cannot get a look in has to be wrong. I have got used to that but doesn't make them better fans, brother.

Im one of the old brigade and unless my eyes are deceiving me I see loads of new faces at every away match, so it is a fallacy to say that new supporters can not get to matches.

The vast majority of City fans are neither destitute nor top earners, they fall into the middle ground, and as such they can choose how many aways to attend.

You're the one using meaningless expressions like 'better fans', 'more loyal'. The points system discriminates between people who have attended 10 aways a year and someone who has attended 25 aways a year. The latter fan has made a bigger (non trivial) commitment in terms of time and money than the former, over a long period of time and therefore deserves precedence when it comes to tickets for big games. Not complicated. A system was put in place that was fair to all, it shouldn't be dismantled because the world doesn't recognize what a big fan you are.

You and the other Heroes make me feel I am in a dream where I am at the Tory Party Conference surrounded by people boasting how they have done the hard yards, put it the effort (and the new words 'commitment' and 'deserve' to 'earn' all they have and their big house. It might be true but to a person who might have sweet FA it wears thin to hear it. Like true Tories any suggestion to take anything away from them to give to others is greeted with howls of protest and serf justification with repeated recitals of all they have done to get to their present position.

The way you justify your potion by keeping on repeating it, implies the right, the entitlement even though you might not use the words 'better or more loyal'.

In this famous socialist city on the anniversary year of Peterloo I have an idea. That all those with say 18000 points and above say 'I've had a great run for my money going to all this games when so many fans do not get a look in. It's only fair that these fans get their chance just like I have and I will stop going to allow this'.

No F...ing chance whilst self interest prevails. So let's have a ballot instead like United and others do.That is truly fair. Everybody has the same chance.

No more please I have said all I want and certainly read more than I wanted to when I first posted. I am sure you feel the same. More important is the subject of this thread , empty seats when loads of blues whether high pointers, OSC, 18-25ers, Fred Karno's Army 'n' all could get a ticket

Looks like there could be a few at Norwich for different reasons.

How do you feel about the team with the most points in a season winning the league?

Do you think they should all play each other in a spirit of equality and then award the title by ballot?

That all depends where you live. If you live near Manchester every home game is hardly any effort at all. If you live further away even a home game could be a 10-12 hour minimum. And then most aways could require overnight stays. 19 x 12 hours plus (for example) 10 x 24 hours for 29 games smashes anybody who lives within an hour of the ground. Doesn't make them more or less loyal - just pointing out it isn't as simple as it sounds to say more aways mean a bigger commitment, although I do agree under most circumstances.

I did say I wanted to finish this conversation but your comment and its silliness invites some sort of reply. - one of equal silliness - I will do my best.

So you think your points harvesting is on par with City's supreme football? It seems like one of those joke trophies that we all make up for Liverpool. The Monastery Cup for most points in a month beginning with an A collected by a Gortonian?

Now please.....I do have a life to live whilst you count your points and how many you would have if that rotten City hadn't stopped them.

I was trying to match your level of absurdity. Not easy.

I'm actually OK pal, so don't worry, the club have done me a favour by freezing the points totals.

A fitting reward for my dedication over the years.

Utter nonesense. Those trying to drive up hate of those with high points is generally as they only want to go to certain fashionable aways with the crypto facist agenda to get rid of points the driver.

United's ballot is vastly skewed towards their loyalty pot members getting most of the tickets, not like 30% that go to points at Bournemoluth and Old Trafford for City aways.
