Empty seats.. worsening trend?

And add to that why are people on the concourse while the team comes out, why do so many leave early. Might be a boring question brought up again but it is getting worse week by week.

The empty seats when the stadium is a sellout is a disgrace...

I knew some of the responses would be defensive but on the whole, people have explained that the empty seats are mainly due to people that cannot commit to a season watching the team due to their personal circumstances or the club have allocated a few seats for staff/academy members etc and there is no interest in Cat C games etc.
In any stand of the ground, I feel there should be a minimum requirement attendance of 12 of the 19 Premier League games. If the person falls below, then an average is taken over 3 years. A Fan Fair Play type scheme if you will. If you attend less than 36 games in 3 years, your card MAY be resold. This would allow for change in personal circumstances(ie redundancy/illness etc). The Family Stand should be exempt IMO as at 16 they get turfed out anyway. The academy freebies should be reallocated to the North Stand 3rd tier.

your points are good but flawed, we have a group of us going so if one was on the verge of having his season card revoked and couldnt make the game then we would simply enter using his card or exit the ground and re enter, this keeping the number of games within the required amount, the answer maybe the new stand we are building make the whole end £300 season tickets with juniors at £150 we need to get the youngsters in and get them hooked like they did with all of us at one time, i'm afraid i feel its simply down to cost like everything else in life

Money hasn't been a big factor so far Marco. In fact, people are not turning up
For seats that they have already paid for.

I agree with you that pricing needs to be very affordable in the new stand(s)!

ermmm, could these seats be match day sales we have not sold but the club are claiming they have been sold to generate more income due to FFP, a bit like Swales at Maine road declaring a crowd of 35k when we all new there was in excess of 45k 'obviously in reverse'
there is one thing that comes with sell out games and that is ticket touts which you never see at city 'just a thought'

I think the club's accounts might be subject to a bit more scrutiny than they were in the 70's & 80's mate.

I think it's because they know that at the end of the game, the players just strop off down the tunnel without acknowledging the fans

;)

It's all because they made the family stand way way too big. Turfed out 1000's and now there are 100's if empty seats in that end every match

That could be the case with some of the tickets that go to Vianogo but the empties do seem well spread out around the ground (apart from the complimentaries at the bottom of the family stand). Most of the tickets that are returned by away sides seem to get sold in SS2 as well!

Ticket touting is mainly an on-line game these days so you only see a few touts for the big games (close to where the taxis pull in near the Mercedes Garage).

On the concourse?
I'm not through the turnstiles as I get my last minute smoke

I know what younger saying, however, some of the players are good at acknowledging the crowd including Vinny, Super Frank, Jimmy, Edin and Clichy.

It's a lot better than the Keith Curle era!!

Since when do over-16s get turfed out of the family stand? I think that this one is a Blue Moon myth.
