Empty seats.. worsening trend?

It is an on going problem same as fans leaving early & lack of athmosphere .one way to sort it is to get rid of outside ticket agencies .make it simple for season ticket holders who cant go .to get rid of there tickets .have a system ,where you can get tickets on match day without having to pay extra .& lastly oh silly me cut the price of tickets . i will not & wont pay £48 plus for a match day ticket

quite agree, my games come in at £34 per game with the season ticket, there's no chance i'd pay £48 when i could get a stream on the laptop and still have change from a few beers and a curry

I know it must've been miserable today especially if the rain is blowing towards that end which it looked like it was doing.

Most people come on here to slag the family stand off but fair play to anyone with kids that sat through 2 hours of that weather.
Also as usual had a block of 17 empty CITY seats next to me in 137 .so don't be blaming us again for no shows

So City would undercut themselves?

If £48 is what people are paying for an individual ticket the club aren't going to promote season tickets having individual games sold on for less than that.

It would hurt their sales.

Best solution is to move all comp tickets to the gods and take it from there

no, i'm just saying what my affordable limit is and i would not pay £48 for Sunderland, i would for the derby though, maybe an idea with the match day sales is to sell them in batches of say 4 where one at least would be a top game guaranteed, but i think they have to dump viago or whatever there name is, at least 50% of the empty seats behind the goal today were people shifting from the weather so it looked worse that it was

It's got nothing to do with the prices ridiculous as they are. The game was sold out. In fact Sunderland had supposedly sold out as well, but here were more empty seats in their end than there was in ours.

Seems to be the first couple of rows in the Family Stand. Who has those seats? It's not a problem in other areas of the ground, it just seems to be behind that goal.

I've got a seasoncard, but there are people who struggle to get seats together and don't go as a result, and then they must watch MOTD and see those empty seats.

Ticket Office needs to find out who has those seats.

It's already been said on here. They're apparently complimentary tickets given out to The Academy players and families. Demand isn't high for games like today but everyone wants one for the derby and other big games.

i'm still convinced were not selling out for certain games despite the club reporting it as a sell out, this can only be one thing and that's to satisfy FFP, there were quite a few empty's in the lower east and all put together could have been the size of a block, i just cant see that all these people buy a seat and don't bother turning up

What I don't get is why they are all in that stand. Something odd. There's always a few in that stand, but today there was more than usual, and today it was down at the front. Perhaps they give those seats to student unions to sell, maybe complimentary to staff who don't go, or to other organisations? It needs sorting. Price the game right and there's more than enough City fans to fill the ground for a League game.

i went into the ticket office at Maine road once because i had a problem with my seat and they showed me the computer to pick another available seat the guy said pick any of those in the umbro stand except for the first two front rows because all those are allocated to the university, it looks like there doing this for the family stand at the Etihad
