Empty seats.. worsening trend?

Sorry Bluestreak. T'was speed reading.

JRB. Interesting reading on Viagogo. The game is tomorrow and behind the goal as follows;

Level 1 has 34 tickets for sale.
Level 2 has 29 tickets for sale.

Family Stand 137 Row Y want's £26.50 1 Under 16, 1 Adult.
Family Stand 135 Row E want's £37.50 for the same.

If it doesn't sell, does the ticket become valid, and the person can go, or does the holder have access restricted?

Having tried to buy and shift tickets myself don't have a problem paying a small premium to save the hassle of handing over a ticket and have it loaded onto a membership card .don't have any problem people asking £100+ good luck to em if they think they are going to sell.but what I carnt get my head round is once the games sold out why you can't price your ticket at £5 if you want and stand a chance of shifting it

Vianogo won't be making much out of this deal. They don't let you sell for a fiver or a tenner bacause in their commercial experience they know sellers want at least face value. The guy who sits next to me was chuffed to get £75 off Vianogo for the West game when we won the league. (He was going to a wedding).

IMHO, it shouldn't be the Club's priority to help re-sell tickets from people who have got a season card. However it would be preferable, certainly.
The fact that there are 400 or so tickets on Vianogo for tomorrow indicates that buyers are becoming more selective. Why pay top dollar to see Sunderland when you can see up play the Rags or Chelsea for a few quid more. If sellers / Vianogo users get left with tickets then so be it! Maybe some of these people shouldn't renew their season tickets and give people a chance of a seasoson card who can go more often!
Not sure I agree with you about people wanting face if their was 400 up for sale I would be happy to take £20.
Each time we play Everton I buy a ticket off stubhub and they let the seller set the price last year I paid £35 the year before £20 for 2
If stubhub are happy with that then why not viagogo .I must admit the ticket loading onto your membership card is worth a few extra £s

OK mate that's good to know. I accept
Not everyone is looking for top dollar.

Those that are may get priced out of the market as buyers get more selective!

Read my post it is totally out of my reach. It's a £200 day with the kids. I only earn £450 a week now. Sorry but Fuck Off.

My little blues watch it on the telly or Shady's blog as we are not forking out another £15

The club should put an easier scheme in place so season card holders can enable other blues to purchase the empty seats , dare i say a non profit scheme , no doubt a dirty word in premiership football . But why should the club be bothered they have got their money , do they give a toss about hundreds of empty seats ? Thats my opinion, from a fully paid up member of the JCL club , apparently the number of posts you have , will deter whether you are a JCL or a Rag on this forum , well at least according to some total knobheads who post on here. .(ive got 50 years support on the clock and should do a thousand games next year , so i am not sure which category i fall into).

put a bum on the seat for *the same price* as the bum that should be filling it but can't make it

(or less if the seller is happy with that)

problem solved

Fair play to you Mr Grimble, I don't know about a thousand games I have not been that many in my life as a Blue. You say you have been going for 50 years, I guess you have a disposable income then? I am not begging poverty I go to work and earn enough to pay the bills. Unfortunately not enough.

Absolutely not mate , lucky to get 10 games a season due to cost , sons and grandsons are expensive :):) But it doesnt make you , or me , any less of a supporter because our income dictates our level of support , the simple fact is , it used to be a working mans sport , but i believe the game is going upmarket , and is definitely putting a strain on finances of some supporters. Perhaps premiership clubs dont want to attract the great unwashed who want a pie and a pint .

Sellers can't sell below a certain price, which makes the tickets really expensive once you add on VAT (because the ticket becomes vatable when resold this way), but they can inflate the price up by 50% I think. The ticket is valid for the card owner until it is sold. Can't remember if there's a cut off time.

I only tried it once last year when I had a funeral to go to and couldn't make it to the Sunderland game. Luckily, for me, that game got cancelled and I didn't miss it after all, but the tickets wouldn't have sold anyway and my seats would have been empty.

I realised that being platinum had NO benefits for me at all so went Gold instead this year.

The solution to me is to only allow overseas fans the option to sell on Vianogo, dump Platinum, and if you can't make a game, let the club resell it for you with profits going to City In The Community. If the club want to do this via Vianogo, they could do, but tickets need to end up being around the normal price, not the inflated figures.

I'm not worried at all, its due to a number of factors; people not being able to show at the last minute, many people struggle financially this time of year and the ticket prices dont help, viagogo now shows etc

Fcucking loved it today. Barnstorming game with three excellent goals for the Blues. Took a mate and brother to the game thanks to the generosity of Lewis / Harrogate Blue. Who said Scots are tight!

Anyway, some people will have missed the game for good reason but if you couldn't be arsed - you missed a belter!
