Not that it is any of your business but I have attended six out of the ten home matches this year. Home matches for me involves 3 trains and a round trip of 440 miles per game. Sunday games usually a day of work on the Monday. The ticket is used my by father on the occasions I do miss but sadly ill health has left it free for a number of games this year.

Yes I laughed mate because as has previously been pointed tickets have been available for the last three home matches enabling anyone to attend and guess what they have only sold out on the day of the game. Can you not see that?

As for your point about single tickets, do you honestly think this was the case when they went on sale initially and also how will me giving up my season ticket when I miss a home game release tickets for families to attend? It would still be a single ticket.

Good post Frank and that's a great effort travelling all those miles!

I still think it can be difficult buying tickets for groups of people (even for some of the lesser games but I guess it's a case of the early bird catches the worm
The only thing that would solve it, and help Damocles' heart felt plea, is standing

Or people giving a flying fuck about the club in front of themselves but I can see that it's challenging for many people.

Somebody on this thread or another similar thread said the empty seats at the front of the Family stand are not season tickets BUT concessions for groups of "teams" (noticable in track suits ) or even Students that get given free tickets. - and it must be relevant that Students at the Uni. are on holiday.

Not for all the matches I posted on Page 1.... Sunderland I'll give you.

I think the problem is some fans are worried and moan about empty seats whilst the club only consider unsold seats

it is obvious some fans cannot differentiate between the two!

I think there is agreement that tickets for the front of the North Stand - behind the goals - have not been sold as per tickets in other parts of the ground. This probably includes complimentary tickets to the Academy and Women's Teams. I think it was the only area of the ground that wasn't full for the Moscow Champs League game.

The Club may have have recognised that there are quite a few "no shows" in this area (except for the biggest games) and begun selling tickets again in this area! We will know more from today's game!

Block where I sit has the odd empty seat for League games maybe literally a handful per 500 seats.

At the front of the North Stand it's abut 1 in 3 empty seats and whole sections together empty so it's obvious they are not season ticket holders who have not turned up.

Someone suggested that at Maine Rd, the first couple of rows were given to student Unions to sell, and I have also heard of European games when tickets are given to employers sports and social clubs to sell. I reckon something similar must be happening with these seats - perhaps for selected games.

We should not have a situation where tickets are on sale for £50, and fans can't buy tickets together, and yet there are empty seats together at the front of a stand.

Those of us who have supported City since the 60's can well remember average attendances of 36,000-42,000 when we had a capacity of 65,000. If we have a few empty seats who gives a shit? Just because the likes of Adrian Chiles, Paul Scholes and some no-mark journalists want to make a name for themselves by making it an issue - SFW? We blues shouldn't be so precious about critical comments; we are the luckiest generation of fans alive to be able to witness what's been served up over the last few years. I'm sure that anyone with a season ticket doesn't miss a game without good reason.
Sod the trend - if there is one - it's happy days, and don't forget it.

The trend is up

It was only a few years ago that we couldn't sell out midweek Cup Quarter Finals. The 30k hardcore has always been there, but in the last 5 years a lot of old City have come back. And lots of new.

AT the Liverpool game about 6 years ago (the one we threw away a 2 goal lead) for some reason I was in ns level 1, a local school from here had a group of pupils over (with quite a few Liverpool fans among the pupils teachers and parents), all situated in the area that appears to have the empty seats, could these be citc seats that youth organisation s don't take in December and early January?

So have I got this right? The ones that aren't overly bothered by an empty seat that the club has received money for don't give a flying fuck about the club?

Wow, to go with the disdain for soldiers, the forcing the prices up for everyone else and the slain bunny rabbits they really are objectionable people.

Most of the solutions being proposed on here are quick fix solutions. It seems to me the emergence of MCFC as a front runner in European football is still very much in its early days. In my opinion the increase in attendance is a given, it wont be quick, but it will slowly but surely creep up as the "project" gathers momentum.
