Hilarious. Tickets for last two home games sold literally out a couple of hours before kick off. If they were that desperate to go they had days, weeks to phone the club and book tickets.

Yes mate I will send my season ticket off to the Army recruiting office. They will send it me back for the next home game wont they?

I take it Frank that you don't go to many games but I thought I would raise this after your laughter at other posters.

The Club message I saw said that there are still some single tickets available on the third tier. Do you really think families want to take these tickets.

Not that it is any of your business but I have attended six out of the ten home matches this year. Home matches for me involves 3 trains and a round trip of 440 miles per game. Sunday games usually a day of work on the Monday. The ticket is used my by father on the occasions I do miss but sadly ill health has left it free for a number of games this year.

Yes I laughed mate because as has previously been pointed tickets have been available for the last three home matches enabling anyone to attend and guess what they have only sold out on the day of the game. Can you not see that?

As for your point about single tickets, do you honestly think this was the case when they went on sale initially and also how will me giving up my season ticket when I miss a home game release tickets for families to attend? It would still be a single ticket.

Good post Frank and that's a great effort travelling all those miles!

I still think it can be difficult buying tickets for groups of people (even for some of the lesser games but I guess it's a case of the early bird catches the worm

The only thing that would solve it, and help Damocles' heart felt plea, is standing

Just for the record if there was some facility to pass tickets over I would sign up for that. If the tickets could be returned to the club and distributed to a worthwhile concern I would have no problem with that. I personally do not like my ticket being empty and always offer it to friends If I know in advance it will become free.

Selling on personally has not appealed to me as if an anomynous person bought it off the internet I would be concerned they could impact on those who I sit near. It would not be fair on them.

Fair play on your response though, Its a subject which irks me and appreciate your response could have been different.

I only go to the 'big' games. It's not that I can't be arsed going to other games, but any Saturday game is out for me. Sometimes I sell my tickets on, sometimes I have no takers.

Questions for those of you that are the blue seat spotting brigade.....why do you give a fuck? I take it you never went to Maine Road in the 80's? Think I saw Maine Road full maybe 3 times in that period, once vs the red shite, once vs candlepool in the Q final of a cup the other vs Charton. All circa 50k. The rest of the 80's we were lucky to get 25-30k for a game, so half the stadium was empty most games. Nobody gave a fuck then, so no idea why anybody gives a fuck now.

Totally agree with this...even during the late 1960s and early 1970s maine road was never full. We were champions, won the FA cup, won in europe, a few league cup finals.. we just got on with supporting the team. Just my opinion but we should have never have left Maine Road.
.

I still don't get why anybody gives a fuck how many blue seats you can see at a game. A few hundred season ticket holders not attending has no impact on atmosphere whatsoever, so that's clearly not the reason that some seem to give a shit. Can somebody explain why it matters to them?

This fear of empty seats seems to be a new phenomenon which I can only imagine is driven by fear of ridicule by some snotty red twats who've never even been to a game of football.

I don't think it's season ticket holders in that area with the empty rows of seats, it you get a few season ticket holders that don't turn up for some reason they will be dotted round the ground, these are rows of seats in a sold out game, prob be tickets that the club has given to the community and ticket agencies etc.

Don't know why people keep mentioning united fans , the people that are having a go at people about the empty seat situation keep mentioning the red shite, makes me wonder who is REALLY bothered about the scum.

For the record I love being in a full stadium with a great atmosphere , it creates a feel good factor and I bet it makes the players and manager feel better too, but if there is a few empty seats so it be it not the end of the world.

I've had a rant & calmed down & now after 59 pages I ask in puzzlement: Do people go to the match to watch football or to count empty seats? Personally I go because I enjoy watching football. I'm not bothered what the rags say about empty seats, why should I be? My team is City.

Yes you are not bothered what the rags say , trouble is the rags are saying nothing, it the City fans on here talking about it , the rags I know never mention it to me now, partly cos they are bored , partly they have enough problem of there own. Mostly cos I usually give a good explanation why they are empty seats .

I have no idea what rows you're talking about, but I'd tend to agree that if there or more than 5 or 6 seats together which are empty, then yes, it could well be tickets which were given away. However, to counter that, there was a row 2 in front of me which was pretty empty vs Sunderland & these are definitely season ticket holders.

With regards to mentioning the red shite, I'm scratching my head as to why people are bothered, so presume that these people are pestered by rags & let it get to them. I get it all the time from any rags I know, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I don't even argue with the fuckers anymore, I just smile.....a real fucking smug smile & they all know what it means, so if you're insinuating that I'm the one who's really bothered about them, you couldn't be further away from the truth if you tried.

I'd love a full stadium rocking every week, but I really couldn't give a toss if we only had 20k there, which was our average attendance when I started going. So I'm still none the wiser as to why it bothers people. I'm guessing it bothers you by your response so can you please explain what gets your goat about it??

Somebody on this thread or another similar thread said the empty seats at the front of the Family stand are not season tickets BUT concessions for groups of "teams" (noticable in track suits ) or even Students that get given free tickets. - and it must be relevant that Students at the Uni. are on holiday.

That's been mentioned on a couple of threads about this but it doesn't fit in to the way some people seem to want to go. Maybe it's too logical for them. :-)
