Empty seats.. worsening trend?

I think everyone needs to calm down a bit before I dish out the mod chill pills.

I really don't give a toss that the rags and dippers think that we're a joke because they can see a couple of hundred seats empty on the TV. I do however care that the club makes decisions that seemingly render it difficult for people who DO want to be at games to buy tickets for those games while claiming they're a sell-out.

The only problem is that we have the family stand behind the goal. We play very attractive, attacking football, so there is plenty of goalmouth action. Therefore the empty seats at that end are very, very visible (Aston Villa at home last season was a shocker, considering what was riding on the game). The family stand has been like that for
years, and I'm sure people with kids have good reasons to miss some midweek games, or late kick offs, and maybe have to get away early to get the kids home. I'd move the family stand, and make that whole end a 'singing section', maybe call it the '1894 Stand'?

But the singers say they need to be near the away fans & they'd probably all move back to the South Stand to join the away fans for the 'banter'!!

This is where I sit and personally wouldn't want to sit anywhere else, for me this is a must as the atmosphere is created here and recently it has been really poor around the rest of the ground. back on topic where I sit because we all stand my row has around 10 seats yet every game has a minimum of 15 people cramming in and a lot of the rows around me are the same.
Which are possibly people from the family stand

I only go to the 'big' games. It's not that I can't be arsed going to other games, but any Saturday game is out for me. Sometimes I sell my tickets on, sometimes I have no takers.

Questions for those of you that are the blue seat spotting brigade.....why do you give a fuck? I take it you never went to Maine Road in the 80's? Think I saw Maine Road full maybe 3 times in that period, once vs the red shite, once vs candlepool in the Q final of a cup the other vs Charton. All circa 50k. The rest of the 80's we were lucky to get 25-30k for a game, so half the stadium was empty most games. Nobody gave a fuck then, so no idea why anybody gives a fuck now.

Totally agree with this...even during the late 1960s and early 1970s maine road was never full. We were champions, won the FA cup, won in europe, a few league cup finals.. we just got on with supporting the team. Just my opinion but we should have never have left Maine Road.

I'd have asked for a mod chill pill but I prefer a Baileys in a chocolate cup if that's ok PB? :-)

Why are we beating ourselves up when we're going to get close on 45k tomorrow?

It will be the 2nd biggest crowd of the weekend (after Arsenal)

Your idea is much better, the chill pills are bitter and sharp

The worsening trend for me is the amount of busy cunts on here telling people what they need to do. People need to wind their necks in & let people do their own thing.

If people buy a ST & miss a game it's got fuck all to do with anyone else. If people want to go & sit & watch the match in silence, again it's got fuck all to do with anyone else. It's free country people need to stop worring about everyone else & do their own thing.

All those people who can afford the tickets but choose not to attend, without offering them back to the club or selling/passing them on should be ashamed. There's plenty I people who would love to go, but can't get a ticket.
If you can't go, sell them or let them go to someone who would appreciate it.
Tickets for troops is always looking for donations.

Hilarious. Tickets for last two home games sold literally out a couple of hours before kick off. If they were that desperate to go they had days, weeks to phone the club and book tickets.

Yes mate I will send my season ticket off to the Army recruiting office. They will send it me back for the next home game wont they?

I take it Frank that you don't go to many games but I thought I would raise this after your laughter at other posters.

The Club message I saw said that there are still some single tickets available on the third tier. Do you really think families want to take these tickets.

Not that it is any of your business but I have attended six out of the ten home matches this year. Home matches for me involves 3 trains and a round trip of 440 miles per game. Sunday games usually a day of work on the Monday. The ticket is used my by father on the occasions I do miss but sadly ill health has left it free for a number of games this year.

Yes I laughed mate because as has previously been pointed tickets have been available for the last three home matches enabling anyone to attend and guess what they have only sold out on the day of the game. Can you not see that?

As for your point about single tickets, do you honestly think this was the case when they went on sale initially and also how will me giving up my season ticket when I miss a home game release tickets for families to attend? It would still be a single ticket.
