Empty seats.. worsening trend?

Once again virtually all the empty seats concentrated in the first 2-3 rows of the same blocks. The Ticket Office were saying all morning that only singles were left yet there were about 100 empty seats at the North Stand End. City's Ticket Office must be giving these to someone else to sell.

It's a bit annoying. Not only are City fans missing out, but the Club's fans are made to look bad.

I had a look at the Sunderland Message Board after our game at the weekend, and the majority of comments about City were about our supporters not turning up to watch a team at the top of the table.

I can see what you are saying Marvin but clearly the club don't give a shit or they would do something about it. I think it's a case of fans caring more about it than the powers that be. What sunderland fans are saying on a forum is unlikely to rank highly on a boardroom meeting agenda.

I think it will bother the powers that be. Doesn't do the image of the club and its fans much good.

No, but I've just checked today's attendances. Surprised they only got 30,000 against Leeds. That's almost a Derby for them, and a grudge match. 30k is a very poor turnout for a game like that.

Was well impressed with City's numbers today, although it was once again very quiet.

I don't go on opposition forums much but I did the day after we won up there. It amused me no end because it was exactly like this one. Hounding each other for not singing. Hounding each other for not turning up. Hounding each other for not being supportive and hounding each other for leaving early.

Many football fans have their perspective bent out of shape by the prism of their own club. The grass is always greener on someone else's pitch.

the sunderland forum is a load if bitter shite. theres more threads on newcastle than there is on sunderland, they seem to slate every other fan base as well all the time. the very same sunderland fan base which could barely even sell 30,000 for todays game. i met some sound sunderland fans at wembley and wouldn't base there opinion on a forum

Fans will always have a pop at us these days for our attendance, support etc because it's generally all they have left. We use to do it every week, we'd leave away grounds having been hammered consoling ourselves that we'd "outsung" someone or had better fans. All things considered I think I'd rather just win.
