Bearing in mind a team like England should be getting out of their group (2 wins out of 3) and then winning the first knockout before any defeat making it 3 out of 5, that means 60% minimum should be a doddle. Easier with the larger number of teams now so an unfair comparison imo.

The big game losses in tournaments should be how you judge managers, England is always seeded and gets a good qualifying group so its easy pickings for Southgate, it is the tournament he gets found out in and reverts to championship football 5 at the back, long ball, freekicks and corners as weapons.
England needs an attacking manager who puts a team out to put the fear god into defenders, Let them change their setups to suit our attacking setup, England has a bag full of wonderful attacking players to pick from, Plus good midfield players holding/attacking players, Let them play and forget defending because we have average players,
Pep would flood the middle of the park with attacking players in a 6 and 4 setup, 2 defenders 2 wing backs, then 2 holding midfield players and the rest in a false nine. SIMPLE

Again that is an old-school manager in pre-season back in the 1980s, I get team bonding and working as a group, but modern football is more tactical knowledge of the game and your role in the team and understanding how covering for your teammates is important, Playing Rambo and little boy soldiers is so different to being a Soldier going to war.
Southgate is a clown and it would not surprise me if we failed early and went home with egg on our faces. Southgate knows the United job is his no matter what happens in the tournament, So does he really give a shit about England
