It’s a “problem” all international manager’s have these days. Most a lot of an issue than his. Imagine being a South American international manager and have virtually your whole squad playing their club football on a different continent.

I also think of the Italian league as being pretty insular and was amazed to hear the commentator the other night say that out of their three representatives left in the Champions League they have a combined total of seven Italians in their squads.

I think the squad would be better with players from the EFL in it. They want to play for the country more than filming tik toks and game show specials instead of training and learning tactics to beat the opposition.

Southgate has got the best crop of young players to choose from than any England manager has had for decades. The standards in the PL have never been higher.

We've 4 (2 on loan), that he could pick if he trusted the younger players, perhaps he needs to look more closely instead of picking his favourites all the time, and moaning about his lot.

His issue is he doesn’t know what to do with the quality he has. He moaned that Italy took control as England kept giving the ball away, no shit but does he think he’s using the players & formations to maintain possession.
