this game vs denmark has the feel of iceland all over again ??
england are too good to lose vs denmark ? england are a bigger nation ? england have world class players ?

i will say one thing denmark will not be scared of england. yes they respect us but fear us nope
mentally they are strong and together and that willingness to fight for Christian erickson can be hard to break down

I mean fair enough, I have nothing against Walker. I think he's been pretty good this tournament so it's not like I'm just singling him out. I'm just saying he needs to be a bit more careful against Maehle and Damsgaard, that's all. It's the first poor game I think he's had, so my post wasn't meant to be some kind of negative assessment on his whole tournament performance.

Fair enough. My post was not supposed to be attacking you but sort of reads like it is on reflection. I heard him get a slagging off by someone who I've never even heard comment on football at the weekend so my comments were more on that.

Walker has been very Walker.....some really brilliant moments combined with predictable right foot dominance and the occasional brain fart.
Absolutely our best option though,as his athleticism and pace is crucial.

I think we'll get past Denmark. They're a much better side than Ukraine, Scotland and the Czech Republic, but they're not in the same league as Germany. They had quite a fortuitous run to this stage (Czech, Wales and a crazy game against Russia to clinch getting through in the group). I think Croatia and Germany are better and we handled both quite comfortably. They've also done a lot more travelling than us.

Throw in 60k fans going crazy at Wembley and everything is set up for us to do well.

Indeed. Not sure where all the supposed City negatives come from. I've not seen any. Each player has had his own praise from the press.

They even mentioned during commentary the other night; “Sancho came through the Man City Academy”, “Sancho will know Kyle Walker well from his time at Man City”, “Sancho spent between the age of 14-17 at Man City”.

England's recent form vs Demark is lost and drew. They lost at Wembley with Maguire being sent off and most of the strongest side playing. England lost to Germanyi n 96 to a full crowd on penalties. Wednesday's game isn't going to be straight forward.

I think Walker had a really poor game against Ukraine. He was one of the few negatives from that game. Maehle, who has been one of the stars of the tournament, attacks down that flank and Damsgaard likes that side too, so Walker will have to up his game and be more careful on Wednesday.

I think if we did a combined team, Denmark would get more players in than people imagine. They have the better keeper, both Kjaer and Christensen would push Stones and Maguire very close, Maehle and Shaw are both excellent but based on this tournament, Maehle gets in.

Hojbjerg and Delaney vs Rice and Phillips? Very close again, and I might just pick one each.

It's in the attacking areas and the talent we can call upon from the bench that we completely blow Denmark out of the water. Our depth is probably the best in the entire tournament.

Denmark are a good side, ranked higher than Germany (I know rankings don’t always tell the true story). It will be a tough game.

Walker rarely plays poorly two games running. In fact, I can’t even remember that ever happening in his time at City. He’s probably been the second most consistent player (behind Fernandinho) in his time with the club.

I’d play Henderson in this one. He’s better than City fans give him credit for and is more incisive and positive with his passing than both Rice and Phillips (with one of those making way). We will need incision and positivity in our passing in centre mid if we are to win two more games in this tournament.

Southgate just interviewed on evening news on the Beeb. He’s got the bit between his teeth, that’s for sure. I think he’s in the brink of delivering something special, and build on that for next year.

I don't think he did. In the first haf we had a problem on that side because he was being asked to tuck in alongside the back four when Shaw got forward or they won the ball. But Sancho wasn't doing his bit. They had a wing back type system and he wasn't tracking the wing back, leaving Kyle exposed when they attacked on that flank. You could see him shouting to Sancho and caught in two minds on several occasions. That problem went when they went 4-4-2 and he was great after that. He's had an excellent tournament actually but his energy probably doesn't get noticed by the average pub fan who just sees the odd misplaced pass and judges him.

The misplaced pass was 50:50 the fault of Maguire anyway - Walker asked for the ball when he was in space, but Maguire hit it about ten yards away from him, right into an area with two Ukraine players. Walker had to run to reach it, and his first time pass to Stones was then under more pressure.

Definitely partly Walker's fault, but if he hadn't been as quick to react to the poor pass, it would have been a Maguire mistake.

To be fair, Sancho was training with the first team at times during his last season, so would have known the first team squad very well.

If we're going to be picky, Kyle Walker didn't join City till the following season :)
