Southbanken. I thought Kane had his best game of the tourno last night and was clearly under orders to drop and collect as deep as he did. For me at times he was too deep, collecting a short pass when one of the midfielders could have done the job. Perhaps it says something about the limitations of the midfield that he did this? Whatever, it worked and it was a gritty, disciplined performance against an excellently organised but limited opposition. The final should be interesting but probably be a bore for those wanting end- to-end excitement. Unless there are injuries I would expect the same England line-up and system with only the right wing starter a question.

Reading opinions on this thread I do wonder whether some posters would have a different perspective and be happier if City were the pre 2008 model and England, however limited were the distraction taking the gloss and attention from the Scum or Chavs.

thought the same, proper cringy some of the anti england posts

Sterling is a disgraceful cheat, pure and simple.
Oh you know that with all the certainty in your empty head do you? I wish he could take knobs like you to court and sue you for slander. Every single one of you. Have you ever played football? If you did you'd know that if you're running and twisting at speed and you get clipped it knocks you off balance and you go down. Oh and that's us as average run of the mill pub players, not a super fast highly skilled athlete that is quicker and more finely balanced than we could ever dream to be.

Here's the run for all you whingers . The ref was right there in close up real time. He saw it at grass roots level, he'd hear the contact, see how it affected his balance and gave the penalty. Now somebody watching a TV screen then viewed it again in slow motion from different angles and surprise surprise, he gave the penalty too. End of fucking story. Rightly or wrongly two separate officials said it was a penalty. Sterling didn't award the penalty they did.

What are you and the rest of the moaners upset about really,? That he's a successful rich young black man? That England won? Or are you a closet dipper still upset that he has the audacity to leave your cult of a club? Whatever it is I wish you'd all take your hatred of one of our own players and fuck off elsewhere I really do.

I thought Walker was immense last night as was Sterling.
Kane had his best game so far and I agree with the previous poster who said that him dropping too deep was due to the limitations in central midfield.
Saka was almost a non entity and how he got picked before Sir Phillip or Grealish is confusing at best.
Rice and Mount were decent but Phillips is another question Mark. Yes he runs around and covers a lot but he seems to take an age to pick a pass.
Stones was solid and made defending look easy. Maguire was decent and I hate to say this but Dough boy would excel at left back for us.
Finally the man in goals who decapitated VVD. Very poor position for their goal and not an assured display at all.
In summary - Phillips and Saka out for me.

Above post is spot on. It’s exactly how I’m feeling at the moment.

It's a step too far for me and I've had enough. If I said what I really felt I'd be banned. It's just a weird sort of hatred for no specific reason and supposedly from people who support our club yet want to demonise a player that plays for our club. It's an utter nonsense

People can say it was a harsh penalty, it was soft, we'd feel aggrieved if it was given against us, that I get. Although with the many bad decisions that have gone against us frankly I'm not losing any sleep over one that has gone our way. To vilify the player to the degree some have on here though is bang out of order

Happy to admit i was wrong i said we had Raheems best years and he was done the rest he has had has reivigorated him.
Kane ive never wanted however his last 2 performances dropping deep and linking the play.He would be a different dimension to our play and allow even more space to be filled by runners from our midfield.I think he would be awesome for us and now in the camp of buying the best striker.

You want us to win the final but the manager to go.....That's like shooting your cash cow.

Is it?
I don't rate Southgate very highly as a manager,he clearly has some strengths, which are negated by his weaknesses, imo.

We all know he keeps his job whatever happens.
I'm guessing nearly everyone will be perfectly happy to carry on with his style of play and tactical nous come what may.
Win or lose Sunday.
